Well there was some change. It would have been more dramatic if the color changed. It's more than just the quest endings too, the decorations were supposed to change with winner. Since Astrid won, nothing changed. I really wanted to see the other two's decorations as well, maybe they were recolors of the old valentines day housing items that we have never seen since you can't recolor them. Or maybe they were new valentines day decorations. Now we will never know.

Not surprised by the results. Mad about it still? Yes. But not surprised. No more community determined events pls Yoshi-P, thanks. Just let us experience the quest of the person we voted for and all of this could have been avoided.
I take less issue with the results of Astrid's quest. As much as I love the lore and like it to be somewhat respected, I treat these seasonal quests the same way I do Manderville in that they should not be taken too seriously. Domestic/partner abuse is bad but don't let Marcette's treatment get to y'all that bad. It ain't that serious.
P.S level your crafters, it's easy with Ishgard Restoration and then you can just make Dalamud Red dye next time >_> <_< Also read the gotdang quest text.
I am not too thrilled with the end results that is for sure.

Make the event change CLIENT SIDE so we can see what we voted for if they're ever gonna do another annoying event like this.
Please show support for chocobo boots to be added -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/323512-Suggestion-for-an-item-to-be-added-to-gold-saucer-Chocobo-Boots

That's the way I thought it was going to end, like yeah decorations change color depending on who you get, but the three end up having to work together so the questlines converge very quickly with only a little bit of variance in the beginning. And then Lisette takes all three on as proteges and they will have to work together. Which would set us up for having the same event on every server next year regardless of who got the popular vote.It would have also been a great way to end it, if they all worked together instead of just using that one advice. (Okay other than Astrid because I found her advice bad no matter what) If you first start out and find yourself and know what you want, you can afterwards also choose a hobby that you truly like.
Idk how they were going to set up next year's event if there were different results on different servers. New NPCs entirely? That's why I figured the outcome would be roughly the same regardless of the winner, but I guess not. Oh well.
At the end of the day people should accept majority of the people arent here nor reddit, they are playing the game.[i mean some ppl dont even read patch notes, let alone forums]~
And seasonal events with outfits or anything thats really cool pre-colored already is going to go with the color people like the most.
As someone said on another comment its better of giving a colorless outfit and if i may add once u took the outfit, the quest turn in on the last NPC would give u the dye of ur choise red, blue, yellow~
How did he not learn anything? It was literally the only outcome that had him actually initiate a conversation with a woman! Geva was certainly a terrible choice to start with, and Marcette.... well yeah.
I say the hanging ending no more implies he ends up with Marcette than Rod's ending implies he ends up with Sylphie. Ironically, I'd say Ywain has a better chance of learning more about himself with Astrid's idea than with Rod's. The man's certainly going to learn what it is he wants, or doesn't want, after spending some time with that woman.
Sylphie's help might get him a little more attention, but what good is that if he can't make a move? Or worse, what good is it if it's just not who he is? His biggest hurdle is that he's holding himself back. He's never going to reel anyone in if he never casts out the line.
On the other hand, really, Bert's idea was probably the best for laying a good foundation. The guy really needed to be passionate about something. Maybe it doesn't have to be carpentry, but, c'mon, you gotta have at least some small thing you enjoy and can animatedly share with others
I think a lot of us assumed this going in, it's just surprising that SE didn't.
It's an interesting experiment but the only attempt they made at controlling it was hardly an attempt.
I'd like to see them try it again but with a quest that's either designed to actually reflect participants' opinions (by not being linked to a choice between rewards, or even something that is "easier" to select over other things), or by just let us do the quest we signed up for and have the popular vote only affect the decorations, not the actual gameplay - especially for something like this where all cases were soft failures. At the end he could have been like "well, we tried a lot of things today but none of this seems to be working out..." and have a shared and more satisfying wrap-up.
I agree, honestly i didnt find the event interesting enough while reading about it once they announced it[ i started last year late february so i missed the event back then, so i dont know if im missing anything here from the discussion] so i went in just to get the red outfit and then log out and study for exams, and reading the thread here with ppl discussing the dialogues of each NPC and what they said it seems they kinda missed the mark. People posted some great suggestions and i hope they take them in consideration next year and for any form of event similar to this one~ FFXIV is story driven and events seem to add more to the characters and areas around so i find it sad i ended up skipping dialogues etc just cause i knew which outfit i wanted[tho it was entirely my choise]I think a lot of us assumed this going in, it's just surprising that SE didn't.

Nah, Sylphie schooling Ywain is best. She will let him know what the ladies like from a young woman perspective. Mind you, she may be young, but is a prodigy, so she isn’t dumb. Being thrown to the lion’s den like Astrid did, could have the opposite effect and scare him off completely. He at least is being guided by someone in Rodrigault’s ending. With Bert, he at least could find someone of interest. Ywain needed to be eased in to the situation, especially since he doesn’t even know what he likes. I just think Rod’s ending is best. How did he not learn anything? It was literally the only outcome that had him actually initiate a conversation with a woman!
