All 3 choices seemed to flop, which kinda makes the event end on a sour note.Rodrigault ended up being a creep but at least Lisette acknowledges it's not a match and that it's more about the makeover. Overall the whole ending ended up ignoring the actual advice people would have voted for which was to find himself, not get roped into a make-over. Best advice gone horribly wrong.

I actually think Rodrigault’s ending is the best ending. He’s not going to date the young girl, she’s giving him great advice. He’s clearly ignorant of the fact he stinks and has a tacky outfit. She’s going to improve his chances at hunting down some of that pelt he was after once he learns to shower and dress like a pimp....Not really, according to the line "...And where it has carried him is directly into the company of a most fetching young lass. A remarkable success, would you not say? Now come. Lisette will want to hear all about my success, and with all haste." suggests that his plan was actually to set Ywain (who is in in his 30s) up with Sylphie who is like 14.
Astrid’s ending is far worse. Him embarrassing himself in front of Geva and then being taken away by that bossy bitch, Marcette, is way worse than taking a shower & new clothes, or Bert’s ending where he learns to love his wood by Master Beatin. I have 2 real life friends who ended up with bossy bitches as their wives and, trust me, they are miserable. It’s the worst situation to find yourself in. That’s not love, but slavery.
With Rod’s ending, he increases his chances at love, with Bert’s ending, he might find love at the Woodworking place, but with Astrid’s ending, it’s nothing but misery if he stays and if he doesn’t, he didn’t learn a thing and in the end, he stays lonely.

How did he not learn anything? It was literally the only outcome that had him actually initiate a conversation with a woman! Geva was certainly a terrible choice to start with, and Marcette.... well yeah.
I say the hanging ending no more implies he ends up with Marcette than Rod's ending implies he ends up with Sylphie. Ironically, I'd say Ywain has a better chance of learning more about himself with Astrid's idea than with Rod's. The man's certainly going to learn what it is he wants, or doesn't want, after spending some time with that woman.
Sylphie's help might get him a little more attention, but what good is that if he can't make a move? Or worse, what good is it if it's just not who he is? His biggest hurdle is that he's holding himself back. He's never going to reel anyone in if he never casts out the line.
On the other hand, really, Bert's idea was probably the best for laying a good foundation. The guy really needed to be passionate about something. Maybe it doesn't have to be carpentry, but, c'mon, you gotta have at least some small thing you enjoy and can animatedly share with others

Nah, Sylphie schooling Ywain is best. She will let him know what the ladies like from a young woman perspective. Mind you, she may be young, but is a prodigy, so she isn’t dumb. Being thrown to the lion’s den like Astrid did, could have the opposite effect and scare him off completely. He at least is being guided by someone in Rodrigault’s ending. With Bert, he at least could find someone of interest. Ywain needed to be eased in to the situation, especially since he doesn’t even know what he likes. I just think Rod’s ending is best. How did he not learn anything? It was literally the only outcome that had him actually initiate a conversation with a woman! I think many people just skipped all the dialogue and just went for the colour that they thought looked best, being unaware that you can actually dye the event glamour gear.

They should have used unpopular colors that aren't associated with V-day. Like Green, Orange and Yellow
Or give three different version of the outfit: The one we did get, one that was one solid colored, and a third one (maybe stripe-patterned or white as an accent color instead of black).
They could then keep all of them the default red but it would give players another reason to choose certain players.
On top of that, players who chose the underdog(s) would then have their own special gear that was rarer AND SE could of sold them on the Mogstation (not that I support it, mind you). :B
Or just make one outfit, give it to the player no matter their vote, and decouple the reward from the vote entirely. I mean we effectivley got one outfit anyway that we just dye to look like the others if we want. It really didn't need to be tied to the vote at all.Or give three different version of the outfit: The one we did get, one that was one solid colored, and a third one (maybe stripe-patterned or white as an accent color instead of black).

Not that I think it made a difference I think cute elezen kid vs yellow highlander and blue elf man would have still won easily anyway.

Astrid gave hands down the worst advice and it went just as awful as it sounded.
I thought Rodrigault gave the best life advice but his ending was even worse than Astrid's.
I voted for Bert because I will always support Beatin and the carpenter's guild, and I'm disappointed not only that we didn't get bonus Beatin content, but that we also missed out on what ended up being the best outcome anyway.
Well, that's disappointing. There's a lot about the event in general that is simply outright creepy. To say nothing of the FFXIV Reddit having had people fawning over Astrid since the competition began even to the point of drawing and posting inappropriate fan art of her.
It'd be interesting to have learned the exact results, because it's possible that Bert and Rodrigault received more votes overall than Astrid between them.
