I chose Astrid because I remember her. Who were Bert and the other guy again? Yeah. Maybe if Valentione's right-hand man were cast into the mix instead of Bert and what's-his-screw, I might've voted for him. Or maybe if we had FAMILIAR CHARACTERS going for that win, I'd have voted for them. I'm not superficial the slightest, I went with what made the most sense to me, story-wise.

    Sorry.

EDIT: For the record, if Godbert were one of the candidates, I'd have voted for his glorious ass.

Really, people shouldn't be surprised that Astrid won. She the most biased pick for having the theme colors and for being the most familiar character out of the three. And this sounds shallow, but If the other two looked more appealing color-wise and appearance-wise, then maybe the outcome would've been different.
It's not that shallow of a comment, the two men aesthetically were not a contest to Astrid, I didn't vote for Astrid because I voted on the suggestion they gave but the majority of the people in this game prefer cute things.

There is a difference between finding love in the workplace and seeking it.

The thing is: He's a Lancer. A tutor a ka a guild-leader, yet still a Lancer. Do you really find it acceptable to judge his situation as if he was sitting in an office as the highest instance a ka boss...?

Or, let's make my question more comprehensible: Would you hold up a pitchfork because a florist or worker at a supermarket are getting closer to their customers?

Plus, would you behead any fanfiction-writers / RP-players for shipping their adventurers with any of the tutors? Because: Don't forget, the playable characters are customers / students of the tutors, strictly speaking.

Personally, I havent been thinking about this in the terms of your workplace and/or situation might not allow for relationships between co-workers or between an employee and a customer and more along the lines of: What happens to this work-relationship if the romantic relationship goes wrong or doesnt even take off?
For me it wasnt so much about ethics here and more about wether or not if could hurt him or his job in the future.

The guilds here are obviously working closely together and are depending on each other, even if they dont see each other on a daily basis. Its still important that the leatherworks get good animal hides to turn into good armor that the lancers use etc.
Now, I dont think that Geva is the type to hold his little advance against him, but I could easly imagine a situation in which the romantic relationship starts to impact the work one in a negative way: Suddenly, Geva refuses to do buisness with him or the lancer guild because of his inappropriate behaviour. Things like that.

And while I wouldnt "behead" anyone for choosing to write/ship a "workplace" or "student/tutor" relationship, I still dont think that thats (a) good, general love-advice (again: if you fall in love at work: Great! But starting to date anyone who you come in contact with through your work: bad.) and (b) depending on the execution (aka showing how they make this relationship work, how they ensure that it doesnt impact the professional relationship etc.)

He is of a higher rank thus he should be careful on who he flirts with. Its not like he just goes on with his life and maybe find some love..Astrids advice seems to me like he should just flirt with a couple of clients (again not co-workers..) and this is shown when she just let him flirt with a married woman..also he seemingly had not interest in her so how would he truly find love if he does not even have someone in mind?

Fanfiction is a whole different thing. Its meant to be the space where you post all your ideas and wishes..which is why you find a lot of stuff there that would never make it to any story. Or would you say that its also normal to have incest and things like that in a game story just because people post fanfictions about it?

I finally did the second quest today. It's even worse than I thought.
Not only he flirts with a married woman, but he knows perfectly well being married! This paints his character in a really bad light.
Even leaving aside how bad Astrid is for all of this, and wassname for basically saying the best marriages are the abusive ones, they completely ruined a canonical important character.
Luckily Geva decided to take it as a joke or I'm sure it would have ended very badly, especially knowing her.

Seeking love in the workplace is probably not even unethical in the very fictional world of Hydaelyn.

Fictional and also medieval-ish, at least in Gridania.

I don't know what medieval villagers would have made of a "don't date your clients" rule when everyone probably knows everyone, or at least is aware of everyone.

Not a surprise the woman won (we all knew she would), despite her idea being the worst. Had it been 3 girls or 3 guys instead of 1 girl and 2 guys, we would have had very different results. But the second you put in a single woman and 2 guys in a Valentine's Day event, she was going to win by default.
