"Behind Enemy Lines" Achievement Needs An Overhaul

Now that everyone is forced into Freelance for Frontline, it makes it incredibly difficult to meet the requirements for this achievement.

Guide any of the three Grand Companies to a total of 200 Frontline victories.

Because of the forced freelancer, the only way you get a win credit is if you get put onto your pledged Grand Company, and then win. Right from the start you only have a 1/3 chance of even being in a match that will count if you win.


I think they either need to lower the requirement to 100 wins (or maybe even lower), or change it so it's a straight 200 win achievement, without your Grand Company coming into the equation.

Freelancer doesn't change credit for the Frontline achievements, though. You'll still earn credit as if you were a member of your original GC, no matter what one you were placed on for the purposes of the instance.

It especially wouldn't matter for that one given that it says 'any of the three'...?

as long as you stay on the same GC any wins you get will count towards it. that and the 3 GC company warsteeds are the only mounts that are affected by what GC you are on. the rest are all tied to wins on that particular mode of frontlines.

As others have stated here, as long as you stay with your GC (like you don't switch from Mael to Adder) even if you're in Frontlines on a different GC, it'll count for your aligned one.

So if I'm aligned with Mael, and go into Frontlines and get put in Flames, if we win it'll still count as a win for Maelstrom on my achievement lists. As long as you stay with one GC (even randomized in FL) you will always earn credit for those achievements if you win.

If you switch GC's (Like from Mael to Flames) and start playing FL with Flames, your progress from your Maelstrom wins won't carry over(as you're not aligned with them) and you'll need to start from scratch. The moment your wins with Flames outrank your wins with Mael(in this case) the achievement progress will start counting your Flames wins.

oh also i should correct myself - the Seal Rock glam achievements only work if you stay in the same GC too (it works like Noitems said). It was Shatter mode when they started doing wins by mode instead of GC.

I wonder if it resets it entirely. I have changed GC briefly, but changed back, and I do not get credit for wins. I wonder If I'm still playing catch up.

changing GC's don't reset any kind of counters towards achievements. in regards to the GC ones if you're not seeing the counter move up after a win then you just have more you have to burn thru for the counter to reach what you had from the GC you were in before switching back. a way to check i suppose is how many wins you have towards the different GC warsteeds.

I just checked and my adders frontline win count is identical to my "Behind Enemy Lines" win count. I'm not getting credit for Behind Enemy lines wins that aren't with Adders.

I wonder if there's a glitch and it's not counting Onsal Hakair as Frontline for that achievement. It counts for the "Front and Center" achievement. I've almost got my mount from that and have been watching it closely. Get a win count regardless of team.

again it shouldn't matter which team you get placed on as freelancer. a win while you are enlisted with the Adders will count towards Adders achievements - and if your "Line in the Glade" numbers match "Behind Enemy Lines I" then it's working properly if that's the most you've done on frontlines for that GC. take note the next time to make extra sure. if there is a bug you should submit a report.

What’s special about Behind Enemy Lines achievement is that you need win 200 matches with the same GC. If you win 50 matches with Adders, for example, and you switch to Flames, you will then need to win another 50 matches with Flames before the counter start increasing again after every win. This has been a thing since Frontline got introduced with 2.3 so Freelancing has no affect on it.

Later map specific victory achievements like for Seal Rock, the Fields of Glory and Onsal Hakair allows you to mix GC victories. Same for the Front and Center achievement.

Not sure if they need to fix this. They just need to specify that you need to stay with the same GC for 200 victories.
