So, basically, if you want to know how to make things with Synthesis... you google recipes and work from there.

That just seems horribly wrong to me. I would understand if Awarded Recipes were for basic materials (ex: bronze ingot) and became more complex as you earned more and more. But instead you end up with recipes for shirts, before even knowing how to craft parts of the recipe! After awhile, yes, you learn the basics. And you could even learn how to make lumber or ingots on your own through trial and error. But realistically you're not going to stumble across the exact recipe for most tools and clothing by just messing around.

I also don't understand why we have no recipe book. Wouldn't it be great to craft a recipe and have it added to your own personal recipe journal, in game? I love the feeling of accomplishment I get from completing things like that. Instead, I have a list of recent recipes that is virtually useless. I mean, if they're recent I ALREADY remember them because I've just made them! Admittedly, this has become easier with crafting simplification.

Does anyone else see this? Keep in mind this is from the perspective of someone that has not played FFXI or maxed out a crafting profession.
