There were, and still are, parties for extreme primals, raids, dungeon runs for spells, and for BLU log completion. Instead of looking at the numbers for the morbol mount, try looking at the numbers for the cute justice minion or the lvl 60 weapon, and you will find that the amount of people farming allied seals from BLU is much higher (trust me, they aren't farming ARR hunts instead)
That's not really a good way of checking blue mage progress, I had both the weapon and the minion the moment I had the option to buy them. I've been capped on allied seals for a very long time, and will be again before blue mage has more allied seal options
