    New player tanking Holminster Switch

    Hello,

I watched a video about tactics on Holminster Switch and Im unsure about the tank busters and what defensive cd use where and when...

    I am leveling a paladin.

I have been doing this dungeon in trust with npc.

But Im so unsure what defensive cd use, and when.

Am I ment to cycle through these long cooldowns or sometimes use 2 at the same time?

Would someone care to explain, taking this dungeon as an example?

If using a PLD, I would reccomend using shelltron + Reprisal, or Shelltron+Reprisal+Rampart. Basically, bloxk 1/2 of you defensive cooldowns on one mob pull and then blow the other 1/2 on the next (this is all for non boss-enemies). Once you reach the boss, I would say every tank buster should get a Shelltron + another cooldown (Rampart or Sentinel) this should ensure you mitigate enough damage to keep you alive (and your healer doesnt have to blow through a ton of mana to keep you alive).

Im so happy, because finally i took up the courage and qued up in duty finder for this dungeon. So delicious and surprising that was, 1/3 of the time I used in the trust with my dull and not yet levelled npc friends.

I even got a commendation. But I also used wings. Though it was on the "all-get-together" mechanic, dont now if it helps out there or not?

I used reprisal and rampart at all non-boss creatures. But also in boss fight.

And you say Shelltron... - That was my favorite ability when i was doing quests in the mid 50 lvls... But still, I am unsure how it works, - if I use it 1 sec before boss tank buster goes off, then it helps? ... And if I use Shelltron in those marked on the ground - bad to stand in - abilities, - it also works? Or does it only work on auto attacks and physical damage?

Sheltron blocks both physical and magical damage. Popping it 1 second before the attack hits you is usually fine.
Wings will protect every party member in a cone behind you as well as make you block every attack for the duration.
You also have Arms Length, an excellent cooldown for big pulls, which will put a slow debuff on all attacking enemies.
And it's always good to use your invuln (Hallowed Ground) in a big pull. Don't save cooldowns for emergencies, use them!
