Dear SE: 25 is the perfect number.

For anyone poor but with a good taste like me (kappa), it's impossible to fit everything in a small plot garden with an item limit of "20"... which is actually 19 because I can live without the letter box or gardening there, but not without the tp.

I'm not asking to expand item limit inside. Just... 25 outside, would be INCREDIBLE. Not a game changer, but a LIFE changer.

    Thanks.

25 is not a perfect number.

Can't think of anyone who honestly doesn't want a higher limit on outdoor furnishings.

But some players already struggle when zoning into wards because they're waiting on their systems to load and render all the manually placed items. It's rare for me to take more than 10 seconds to load (unless I'm logging into my character after they logged out in a ward) but I watched one of our FC members take almost 3 minutes last week. He said that's about the normal time it takes for him to load, which is why he doesn't visit the FC house very often. Our FC leader usually takes 45-60 seconds, which is annoying if we're hanging out at the FC house while doing trial mount farming or chaining dungeons.

What you propose will make the load lag even worse with the potential for 20% more items to be placed. SE is aware that this is an issue for many players, which is why they've set such low limits for outdoor items. I highly doubt they're going to increase the limit, even if it would be nice.

1- Most people don't even use the house or don't use the 20 items limit, so it will be just like having the amount of intented items per house.
2- No offense and I mean it, but you are your friend are using internet with the speed of a dial-up connection. I don't even live near the server, I don't even have a good ISP and it doesn't take longer than 5 seconds for any loading screen.

Load times on zone-in are affected more by hard drive speed, which is entirely within the player's control, than ISP, which is not. Also, as outdoor furnishings are affected by draw distance, it's more likely the other players clumped together causing the load issue. You would see a similar issue zoning into e.g. Limsa at peak times.

Regardless - Just as SE has ceased support of 32-bit OS, they should disregard players whose hard drives are slower than that of a PS4.

That said, this discussion is moot. They've already stated (SHB fanfests, I believe) that they will be increasing the outdoor furnishing limit as their next housing limit increase. They haven't given us a timeline for it, but it absolutely is coming.

So your experience is different from the experience of others. Not everyone lives in the US or has access to high speed broadband for internet, though I doubt anyone is playing using a 56 kbps dial-up connection.

SE has to consider the entire player base and what they're using. They do collect data on systems and connection speeds. They have mentioned the loading issues as a reason why they've haven't increased the outdoor limit in the past though I can't remember if it's been said since they stopped support for PS3.

I don't recall the issue of increasing outdoor furnishing limits being brought up during any of the 2018/2019 FanFests.

If I do a google search, the closest I can get is this https://gamerescape.com/2019/01/04/y...-yoshi-p-walk/

It's not saying they will definitely increase the limit, only that they want to and that if it happens it wouldn't be until after the expansion release.

If you can track down a link to what you remember, it would be appreciated.

Having a SSD hard drive very noticeably affects load times as well, not just internet connection. While it is now common for people to have SSDs it is not yet common enough to safely assume most players have one. Mechanical drives, the older hard drive technology, are still super common. SE also need to take this into account when considering loading times for players.

And if I recall correctly PS4s use mechanical drives.

Where are you going to put PS4 and Xbox 1 players?

I felt extremely restricted by the outdoor furnishing limit at my small house. That has significantly improved since I upgraded to a medium, I must say. Smalls definitely get shafted in that department.

Want more outdoor space? Upgrade to a bigger house.

Even with 20 slots, my smalls outdoors is cluttered. It's more-so the things you use, not how many there are.

A house with lots of trees is obviously going to feel more restricted than a house that only has 20 sets of fallen leaves.
