You sound like the type of people who would gank such people out in the world questing or such. Do not bring your World of Warcraft toxicity here.I am a reletively long time pvp lover in this game and even though I enjoy what pvp has become I think it would be AWESOME if there was a wilderness zone (no need for references here)
Even just an island, random quests maybe a questline but really just with the possibility of being ganked by random teams lol.
Something anything even a mix of eureka and pvp, less large zeros and more small team coordination lol.
(Not sure if I posted this in the correct thread m6 apologiziesesiesis.)
A persistent, designated zone for PvP would be pretty neat. Though I very much doubt that there would be much in the way of good sportsmanship shown which would very quickly put a lot of people off.
I like a bit of open world PvP, the cat and mouse games in wormhole space in Eve: online were great fun for me.
That said, I don't think FFXIV is really built for it and I don't think it would see much acceptance among the community, basically IMHO it would be a bit of a waste of resources.
If it was sectioned off to its own little place then I wouldn't mind, it'd be cool to play the defender and get a couple high lvl buddies to join me in bringing justice to the innocent low lvls who got ganked by those who prey on the weak.
I'd def store anything I had of value in glam dresser or some other place before I did this type of content so peeps who defeated me couldn't steal my stuff I worked hard for.
It is irrelevant that how long you PvP in this game.
Your PvP experience will not make a failure idea works.
Same idea already being brought up in PvP forum and that thread last since 2.4.
The ratio on the idea is 8 (against) : 2 (support) and they are feedbacks from "experienced" PvP players.
I am not sure why you want to sell this idea here when it is not even looking bright within PvP community
I don't neccisarily mind the existance of an open world pvp zone if I don't have to go there, but what would you put there? Any story content? Rewards? Pvp or pve objectives within it? Is there a reward structure and point to it or is it just a big side area to play around in? I feel they would need to have 'something' going on there to justify creating a zone for it.
ye sik lets go play some heckin r00nies all

Open World PvP in FFXIV = One-sided instance that favors veterans heavily (especially in premades).
Expectation: "Me and my friends can sneak up and gank people! This will be fun!"
Reality: Premade consisting of Diamond Wolves kill everyone in their path and spawn camp until everyone leaves the instance.
If you're not proficient at PvP, you will be miserable in the open world... and you will NOT enjoy it.
If you're good at PvP with several seasons of Feast experience... you will find excitement knowing the players you killed (a multitude of times) are smashing their keyboards onto their monitors in frustration.
... and this is why I want Open World to happen. XD hahaha
Yesss Hahahahha
Easiest thing is to just have a zone with open pvp and just add generic quests. a story would be cool but it wouldn't really have to be necessary for pvp.
I just mean a no holds bar open pvp map would be litty.
I'd hope for a zone without using the pvp profile, the reason behind that is that it wouldn
t necessarily be a competitive zone just a zone with the possible encounter.
Some shit like 100x tokens for a mount or some suits lol
