Ridiculous in game grind to obtain store mounts?

The store mounts are developed by a separate team and are not for profit. The proceeds go back into the game (more servers etc.) instead of Sqeenix's pocket. I don't think you will find them obtainable in game any time soon as that defeats the purpose.

Sorry but the game has never needed more servers ever. They did add a EU datacenter with new servers I admit but that was for latency not population. The game bleeds players as quick as it pulls new ones in.

And as for that money from mogstationgoi g back into the game. I cant stop lolling at that. 1 dungeon per patch lol... if they were seriously putting that money back in the game we'd be getting more contents not less and less

If you can either grind or buy a mount, it would look like pay2win: "Oh, hey, don't wanna grind hours 'n hours for that mount? just buy it online, now only for 14,99!"
But I would be fine if they may offer it for an event and for a limited time, like for example the next moogle treasure trove. There you could add an mogry station exclusive mount for 100 stones to motivate players... but then again, it may piss off people who just bought it for cash and probably wouldn't if they knew it was coming to an ingame-event.

The better SE is able to monetize this game the better this game's future will be. I'm fine with some stuff existing exclusively in the mogstation.

Could always have them as a gil sink, there really isnt much to dump gil into cept housing and to just buy stuff too lazy to farm. Couple 100 million gil here and there maybe?

I'll always side on having things available in game through in-game means. However I would prefer good content over mindless grinding. I'm also the one who always asks why a vender has the items they are selling. Probably the best balance of grind and content I've ever seen was the venomhide raptor quest line in WoW.

Good content over grind is a given, however to liven up aging content, or to increase activity a mount (not necessarily a store mount) is always an easy way to get players back for more.

Would it not just be easier for people to 'grind' over time and save up real world money to use on Mogstation purchases...? A few pennies here, a few pennies there...

No. I waste all of my money, and have none left - not enough left to keep wasting it otherwise I would. When I need to have something I need to have it, simple as that. Even if I have to grind..

No.. Please! I never have any gil, I use all my gil on black or white dyes and... random stuff, and I don't ever have any..
