How often do you jump in this game?

I’ve played since 1.0 beta and played FFXI before that. When I heard that ARR would have jumping and minions, I had feared that the end was nigh and that people would be jumping everywhere for no reason and that it would break my immersion and I vowed to never jump since it’s pointless.

Fast forward 6? years and I jump all over the place and even spend a lot of time doing nothing but jumping laps around my FC house walls while talking on discord and I constantly have a minion out and feel naked without one.

I have seen my share of Bards mostly jumping while they attack, idk really.
Myself i do it sometimes while running around in dungeons with friends fooling around.

If the enemy is on a higher ground where my ranged attack is not reaching them, jumping and shooting may actually help to initialize combat if I'm too lazy to move to them .

I mainly jump over objects, often just for my own amusement. It's never felt pointless but I do occasionally embarrass myself during battle by doing a little hop in lieu of an attack.

Excessively. Without remorse or care.

Reasons include (but not limited to) : Listening to bopping music, being in a good mood, abusing free movement during combat.

If we didn't have jumping then I couldn't hop over the imaginary zone lines when moving between maps, or jump from the balconies of the Gold Saucer onto the fountains that shoot you back up repeatedly as I wait for my queues to pop sometimes.

I once played an MMO without the ability to jump in it, it really felt off for some reason and you can bet I didn't play it for long.
