Floating glitch Q

I got a bathtub to float successfully, and put a wooden platform underneath it. I left my room (FC private chamber), came back in and the tub was on the ground floor again. The wooden platform and tub were both considerably high up, not making any contact with the floor. Does anyone know why that happened and how to make it permanently stay up, or is really just going to reset every time I leave my room?

Edit: nvm, found it. Videos explaining it fail to mention needing to rotate it so it doesn't reset.

You have to rotate the items to "save" the height, everything has a minimum height requirement too. I did have a list of what the requirements were but I can't seem to find it, will edit it in if I can though.
