Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

If the game is left at a lowered resolution does it still crash?

It did not crash at a lower resolution. But what I ended up doing was turning my desktop hz to 60hz and in game to 60hz. Enabling freesync on my monitor. And disabled the in game frame cap (I don't need it go to past 60). I enabled Radeon chill to set fps limit at 59fps. I played for a few hours yesterday at 2560x1440 full screen 60hz without crashing. I am not sure if anything is fixed per say I would like to keep trouble shooting it or playing to make sure it.... I barely believe something that has been plaguing me months is suddenly gone haha, on the plus side the gpu runs super cold like this, on the down side I am not using my monitors refresh to its max but I don't care I wanna play ffxiv : ( …..

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I would like to recommend performing a Clean Boot on the desktop to see if the crashing continues. This will prevent any programs from starting up when the starting when the computer first boots up. This can end up having adverse effects on the game when these programs are running in the background. To perform a clean boot for Windows 10: Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. Before performing the clean boot, you may want to try deleting the locally saved data folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV). Make sure to create a backup of this so you can replace it if it doesn't solve the issue.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

When the crash occurs, is anything over heating? Additionally do you have a way of monitoring those temperatures?

Hello, yes I can monitor it. The entire pc is on EK water blocks. But this has happened with multiple gpu's. The others not being water cooled. AMD 5700xt (around 75c), AMD RX580 (around 70c), Nvidia 1060 (around 65c). Also of note. It has happened with a older Ryzen 6 core cpu, 2600. The Radeon Vii core on FFXIV doesn't peak 41c, junction 50c (on water). The cpu ( Ryzen 3900x) doesn't peak 35c (on water) OR 20% usage at times when it will crash. During tests with other non water cooled gpu's. The water cooled Radeon Vii is removed from the system and set to the side with no power going to it. Another card is set in its place. At this time I have tried all PCIE slots on the board aswell and have the issue with the cards no matter which I use.

P.S. No I don't own all of these XD I have a friend kind enough to loan the 5700xt for this purpose. And I had a older 1060 laying around. The 580 was a gift for my little brother and has since been given away as of this week

Thank you for the reply EthEth.

To clarify, did you attempt to play the game with these other GPUs? Did they have the same problem as the Radeon VII? Does the error differ in any way?

Additionally, would it be possible to post a screenshot of the error message?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
