If you do either GoV or FoV I promise you will STILL level three times as fast as classic XI--SOLO.

In my opinion. FFXI was more time consuming than difficult. It did take a great deal of commitment and you did feel accomplished, but it took a lot of time. I never had a moment in FFXI that I would consider hard, except for maybe the Maat fight.

I loved FFXI and I played it for a long time, but I'd rather not have my time wasted. Just because you can get to 50 fast doesn't make it bad. It's wasn't harder to get to 75 in FFXI it just took a lot longer.

I do plan on leveling in the most tedious way possible. I like and prefer that experience. It's called relaxing, sitting back, having fun and watching your character grow little by little. As well as being hyped up for that next level, the new ability you're anticipating, moving to a new solo camp and fighting new things.

Hey, if you enjoy it--whose to say you can't do it that way? If you prefer to play in that style, I'd say go for it...I'm certainly not the one to argue or say otherwise; do what makes it fun for you!

People even die in WoW...this isn't a good argument for if a game is easy or not. I would call Pac-Man easy, but ive still seen very few people reach the kill-screen on capable versions of the game.

My point was XI wasn't easy. Can't even remember how many times it took to beat alexander, I know my group tried it 10x before we cleared it lol. FFXI wasn't easy until WoTG or ACP eras. People act it none of it was hard it just took a long time, no it was hard *and* it took a long time.

That scale model is incredible, Xoo! I've been fighting it too, but I'm working on getting my account back right now. I think I'll try XI again at 2.0. I hope leveling and NMs have been improved by then.

You misunderstand my meaning. In FFXI the game wasn't "broken", what I mean by "didn't start with everything already in place" is: it didn't have 10 years worth of expansion content included, no MMO to date has all the content included from day one. Find one that didn't have expansions, level cap increases, and the like.

FFXIV was released in a beta(barely) quality state, it was a train wreck and the persons responsible have been replaced, or does noone remember that part.

That does not mean that it's content for the next 10 years worth of expansions should have been present at release date though.

FFXI was already great before 10 years had passed. IMO that's an awful arguement. How long was it out before the release of Zilart? From the release of Zilart it was fantastic until a certain expansion made it as easy as XIV, no?
