I dont know what you all smokes about FFXI, WOW, SWTOR, or any MMOs, IMHO for me after playing years with RO, Lineage, Lineage2, GW, WoW, SWTOR, i feel so refresh with FFXIV and the communities i play with. There are always some jackass in any MMOs i played but for me, i've been loging in more and more into FFXIV :3

Hell who cares what says about other games, they are old and getting the old vibes, let's memories be memories mate, other games are good at their own pace, even FFXI which i never really played before(Have the urge to try it out, but the billing system that time suck so bad it didnt let me play).

Each game to their own taste, leave FFXIV alone will you! >:O

I never understand why people come into threads about opinions and start attacking them.
You won't change someone's mind.. Their opinion is their opinion.
There's no need to come raging into a thread going on and on about how "wrong" someone's opinion is and name-calling/throwing around insults. Accept that you don't agree. No need to get all aggressive. It just doesn't make sense. State yours if you will, but there's no reason to argue.

Man if I argued with every person I disagreed with I would be arguing with every person in the world.
Accept that everyone is different and thinks differently. Agree to disagree.

i'm not raging about anything. i'm simply pointing out that if you have an opinion about something that you've never experienced, that's cool- but it's absolutely meaningless. go ahead and tell me whatever you think about neuroscience, but i'll trust the experts.

I wouldn't compare FF14 with FF11, talking about dificulty, content etc, when FF14 is not even finished yet. I understand the nostalgia and even feel it too sometimes, but you can't just compare an unfinished game with a finished one and with many expansions running for years. Yes, FF14 failed at launch. Yes, it still fails at some aspects and has a lot to do still. But Yoshi-P could easily have closed all servers and redo the game and open again for 2.0. But he left servers open and running, started to charge a monthly fee which isn't even the one planned, so we could still be here while he fixes everything. He even listens to the community when things are not working as planned or should be changed.
In my opinion, things are now as they are (easy, not much time needed etc) so we can enjoy on a short run what there is to offer, have some easy fun, don't break our heads with 18man battles, until everything is done for 2.0.

Once the new game is out, then we might be able to compare it with another finished game, and once it has been out for years, with the likes. Until then, you have nostalgia? I have it too, I spent amazing years back in Vanadiel, and if a conversation comes up, I will always remember my newb days running from the orcs and getting killed by a ram on the way to Valkurm. But I will give this one a chance, and start comparing once it's finished.

I agree though if you miss FF11 that much you should go and play that instead, this will never be anything like FF11 and that I am thankful of.

    /cheers for WoW

Nope I did not but if you look at my sig, I haven't capped the same in 18 months playing this game either.

Some people just spend 10 hours a day levelling classes and then complain that there is nothing to do and that everything is easy, well you need to pace yourself sir.

People were getting all AF sets in 2 days, that's ridiculous.
Yup and others are taking months (100+ fights) to get 7/7 on Ifrit, some have gone 100+ and still not got the weapon they want.

Sounds like a bad case of picky choosy and tunnel vision if you ask me.

Lets not forget here also that Job and AF quests were tuned for the respective level of the quest, we are all lvl 50 and steam rolled thought it, again I'll just pick out the stuff that makes my argument work kind of mentality.

You don't have to play all of the game's content to know whether it hooks you or not. I remember starting ffxi sometime around 2006. I was hooked within a few days. It had nothing to do with endgame difficulty or anything else that I had no idea about yet. It came from the sheer immersiveness of the open world, and the high work level per reward that made it so realistic. I played FFXIV in beta and I started it again a couple of months ago. After playing for a few weeks and giving it the benefit of the doubt at every turn, I still felt none of this. I was able to walk away cold turkey and feel nothing. And that is essentially enough to judge a game on. Because at relaunch if it's still unable to provide the hook that ffxi did, it's likely not going anywhere. People won't sit around giving it the benefit of the doubt in hope of a better future like many of us are now. They won't make judgments based on how difficult moogle ifrit fight is. It will be a subconscious decision based on a variety of subtle factors they're exposed to in the beginning of the game.

Now, maybe I'm predisposed, but I wonder how many other people it continues to fail to hook. And I look at xi that did it so well... And yeah, I'd still go back to XI after 3 years if it was still XI. Time sink be damned. Maybe I couldn't accomplish much in the two hours I could play, but at least I couldn't accomplish everything in that time.

Yes because FFXIV only has 2 hours of content, man you guys are so desperate to prove a point you go beyond all reason.
