I utterly despise the gender locked gear... 'you get the one (1) that matches your character's gender' and that's it. And surprise surprise, the dress is hideous. (Fair play to the gents, you finally get a decent set for once!) But good GRIEF... anyone who doesn't play the whispy waifu is SOL, eh? I mean, sure I play an au ra, but I think the dress is 'ick' and would rather the suit... and my viera alt wouldn't go near that dress with a 100ft pole? Can't we have a CHOICE in the matter?

I wish we got both and could wear both. I like the way masculine attire looks on my lady roe because cutsey dresses only ever work on smol and skinny races. Something femroe are not. Also handy for when I glam retainers and my squad.

Agreed. I play as female Highlander and dresses really don't work for this most of the time. I try to work with what the game gives me, but if there is any gear close to the this event's male gear (which is exactly what I was hoping to get for my character one day), it's locked behind higher level crafting classes. I was happy when my weaver reached 50, which was super fast with Ishgard restoration and while I'm fine with walking around as a weaver when I do smaller stuff, I'm unable to show off to Dungeons and farmings in the clothes I like the most.

In general, I think both gear options look neat and well designed, but dresses just aren't my kind of thing and every time there's an event with gender-locked gear, I know, I won't like the option for my character. I already tried playing as different characters, but female Highlander is what I feel the most comfortable with. Now only if the clothes would match.
Anyway, I'll pick the blue option. Mainly because blue is my favourite colour.

I'd be thrilled if they would stop including the tights as part of the shoes. This pair of mismatched shoes will look odd unless paired with the mismatched tights they come with. Just like the bunny outfit shoes look off without the fishnets. If anything, give us a dye to make the tights under them invisible or something.

Like others have said, it won't happen because of how character models are with fashions. I don't think there are many heels that work with bare legs where there is no dyed cloth part at the top part of the shoe. The princess heels are one of them.

And it is pretty much a certainty Astrid is going to win. She is known and female, unless the other two are REALLY appealing in the game somehow.

I really hate the gender-locking, not just for wearing but also for aquistion.
I find the female outfit awful in all its components and there'd no way I'd ever use, but I love the male one, and honestly it would have been perfect to glamour Khai-shirr with.

You can exchange gendered items for free.

What I wish they had done (aside from letting us actually wear these items) is if they were going to have 3 variants to make them unique instead of just recolors of something we can dye anyway.

Like if they had 3 vests, make it:

• Vest with long sleeves
• Vest with short sleeves
• Vest with rolled up sleeves ♥

And have dresses of varying lengths so if certain races look better in short/long they have options.

I already know their team is cowards when it comes to letting men wear dresses or anything remotely feminine, but I really question their judgment for not recognizing how good female characters would look in those vests.

It's not about how good it looks on female it's about having to make the dress usable by male characters if they make the vest usable by female characters.

Exactly. It's very disappointing that they continue to make choices like this.
