nVidia has already admitted that they are able to reproduce the issue, so there is certainly an issue with how XIV, the driver, and the 6xx series interact. Hopefully they fix it sooner rather than later.

In other news, since the most recent patch, I've been crashing more often (twice in the past few minutes, at least once the past few days).

What do you have your graphics settings at?

I have all mine set to their highest settings, except AA, AO, DoF, and hardware mouse cursor are all turned off. In the NVidia settings I have the default program settings for FFXIVgame.exe, except I turned FXAA on. Now, the game almost never crashes, except every once in awhile if I spend too much time in a city (like hours)

im using the same settings as you, and i rarely crash also. Pretty much the only thing that makes me crash is the Uldah Merc House... and even that i can usually avoid it. Buying stuff doesnt mess me up, just checking my retainers from inside there makes the crash the most.

Sidenote: 304.48 is by the far the most stable for me, i tried 304.79/304.80/301.xx/296.88 also. 296.88 was second in stability for me.

I have a GTX 680 and it took me days to get it stable with FFXIV.

On the nVidia forums there is a sub-forum for "Optimum Playable Settings for Games", and I have posted my settings there. Maybe it will help someone else.

Can you please post some screenshots of what the game looks like with those settings?

PhotoBucket resized them so they more blurry than actual.

Wanted to pop in and say I'm having the same issue with my Alienware M11x r2 (which runs the GeForce 335M). Sometimes, the game will just crash with a generic "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working" dialog box or the game will freeze and then my display will crash saying the DirectX device recovered. I don't have any issues on any other games.

Having just started, I'm hesitant to join a party due to how random and frequent these crashes seem to be. The 300.83 driver doesn't support my card, so I can't go that route, and the 304.48 driver didn't fix a thing for me.

After looking in the Event Viewer logs, sometimes the faulting module will be ffxivgame.exe and other times it will be d3d9.dll version 6.1.7601.17514. Honestly, the only reason I continue to pay for this game is the hope that 2.0 will be better. It might be stupid to place my trust in SE like that, but I'm really looking forward to playing.

I did some driver testing, and the most stable driver so far has been nVidia's 285.62 BETA that I got from Dell's driver site for my Alienware. In a 24 hour period, I only BSOD'd once while I had left my character in the Inn room. I hope this helps someone else in a similar situation with an M11x.

Updates the SLI profile for FFXIV

I don't play as much as I used to, so I won't be doing much testing, game seems to run a little bit smoother, but still not as good as it could be. This was with DoF and AO.

The updated SLI profile for FFXIV was unchanged from the 304.48 beta.
