Hope all the would be mentors are taking advantage of the Valentione's event instance while it's available to farm up some of the commendations they need.
It's a good example of why the commendation system needs a rework if it's part of the criteria for being a mentor.
First of all, I thank you for trying to do something. You have a very interesting and, possibly, applicable project. However, as Lastelli noted above, not for this community. Most people are selfish and not worried about others.
You can finish the dungeon without receiving a single recommendation, although you have done your job well. This is especially the case with expert roulette. After 5 minutes, player forgets with whom he played, if one of his co-players didn’t do something extraordinary.
However, I think that if developers want to keep the mentor system, they should rework it:
1. Mentors should have their own reputation system.
2. The icon next to mentor's name should be changed.
3. Mentoring roulette should include dungeons, trials and raids, but not extremes. There should be a separate extreme roulette instead, for players (not only for mentors), who are really interested in this.

1. Im interested in knowing what kind of reputation system you have in mind, would it replace the commendation system? And how would it work?However, I think that if developers want to keep the mentor system, they should rework it:

2. The icon next to mentor's name should be changed.

2. As people have been saying for a while and I agree, for example watering can, since sprouts are tiny plants(?) and returners flowers, so it would make sense kind of? So icon change would be more than welcome.
3. And again I agree, many people here have said they wont even unlock mentor roulette just for the EX-trials that don't belong there. Them having own roulette seems a fun idea though and could be something people would use.
Just some ideas:First of all, I thank you for trying to do something. You have a very interesting and, possibly, applicable project. However, as Lastelli noted above, not for this community. Most people are selfish and not worried about others.

1. If the reputation system includes feedback from other players, I believe that's a dangerous and possibly abusable system. But if reputation depends on other factors directly linked to the mentor's ability...why not;
2. Agreed, the crown was a poor choice;
3. To be honest, if people are looking for help to clear ex trials, the best idea is to recruit via party finder, that is, ask for help. This community isn't so bad, many veteran players are willing to help and will join a "clear for friend" or other similar parties. The problem we have now with ex trials is that mentors might be willing to help...but sprouts sometimes don't want to be helped because they never agreed to the mentor system after all. I think this is were the hostility comes from.
The great difficulty in the evaluation criteria. And I honestly don’t know what parameters to measure their skills. Hypothetically, I understand what you mean, but I still have no idea how to put it into practice.
Therefore, I proposed to take extreme trials beyond mentor roulette. I think it will be easier for everyone. Mentors will not be forced to make EX trials when they do not want to. Beginners will have the opportunity to try this content with other players, without a crown icon.
Is this topic going to be closed soon? We have two people adamantly making nothing but value arguments, who play the victim card every single time someone legitimately picks apart their arguments. They think minority opinions are factual evidence. If you don't agree with these two people they will call you rude, claim that you have some sort of social communication issue, and snidely imply that you need to work on getting better. I've seen both of them cry others are engaging in ad hominem attacks towards them, then turn around and shoot ad hominem attacks against their detractors. These two people are a brick wall and it's a waste of time trying to reason with them.
Especially if the commendation is given for glamour or chatter etc. Of course, people can thank others for what they want, but how good glamour relates to knowledge of game mechanics is not entirely clear.
you don't seem to know what FF XIV commendations are and made something up in your own head, they are given to people who left a positive impression for you.
You are right that is why the achievement is called "leaving a good impression". However since commendations are part of the mentorship requirement they are suppose to be more than just a glamour thing...
A mentor is a player with the knowledge and the will to share it with others so the get your job at max level is part of mastering your character (but summoner/scholar/jump potion made it irrelevant for a lot)
The 1000 dungeons is for mastering dungeons/raid/trials/guildhest mechanics (but most will just do ifrit for ever)
So the first two criteria are about the knowledge and now we are left with the will to help/guide others with said knowledge and that is perfect because we have one last requirement: Commendations!!!
