To answer your question : At low level (you mentioned Sastasha for instance), just tank the way you're most comfortable with. Anyone who insults/belittles you for taking it too slow needs to chill. Honestly, any time i get a dungeon under lvl 60 with the roulette, i don't even care how it goes. I don't expect anything, i just do it, get my rewards, and get out. I don't expect people to be comfortable with their class, i don't expect everything to be optimized and at the highest level of fun.
So when you're starting, just take it easy and don't mind the trolls, because unfortunately they will always exist.

Now that this is out of the way, i would like to share my opinion on the "I expect you to do your job if you're experienced" debate that some other players have been having here.

First of all, i have to agree with most of what Shalan has said in this thread.
And to make it clear, just like him/her, i never complain during the run, because i myself have very little experience tanking, and i don't consider it a good think to just say "You suck at your job", without any actual constructive advice.
That being said, i don't see why healers don't have the right to be upset at bad tanks.

As an example, a couple days ago i got one of the earlier dungeons of ShB on the roulette.

However this time, on the first big pull, with all the Holy spam going on, somehow i let the tank die and felt quite bad about it. I thought to myself "Welp, this dude died way faster than usual, but it's my fault as a healer, so i'll focus more on the healing this time". I then proceeded to simply apologize in chat.
Except that after that, i realized that the reason the dude was losing HP so quickly, was because he wasn't even trying to get out of the AoE telegraphs. He was literally taking all the damage possible.
I even had to completely stop DPSing at some point because i could see my MP getting too low when i had to heal him all the time.

So sure, maybe that person got to 70 with a potion, and maybe that was their first dungeon. But why should i care ? Why am i forbidden to think to myself that they suck, when they take big pulls and then proceed to die because they don't dodge AoEs ? It's not like i'm insulting them in chat or anything.

But then again, i'm one of those players who watches guides before they get into content, because i know that if the heal dies, it basically means auto-wipe (unless you have RDM/SMN in your team as well), and i don't like to be a burden to others.
I don't care as much when i'm playing any DPS class, but when i play WHM i do feel responsible when the party wipes.

So with that in mind, i don't pressure other people to be as prepared as i am when they get into content, but if they're over 70, i sure as hell do expect them know their kit and dodge AoEs.
