    Grand company change

    Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been already talked about, i searched before but could not find anything.

During the main scenario, i got asked to choose a grand company and the NPC told me i could change afterward so i understood it was not a big deal. I chose one arbitrarily to be able to go to the next quests.

But then, my friends all chose another one when i was not connected so now i want to change. But i cannot find any informations in-game on how to change. I can see on the internet i need to be second lieutenant, so it means i need to gather 54 000 seals and be level 47 (to complete "Gilding the Bilious" quest). Well that's a lot of commitment, and i feel a little deceived by the game as i was told i could change easily.

Are those informations correct? Is there any other way to change?

    Thanks,
    NomisS

I haven't heard of needing to be Second Lieutenant before. Though, you do that at one of the desk people at the GC you wish to join. Also, which GC you're in is of little consequence in the end, you being in a different one from your friends will not impact anything.

    From https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Grand_Company

Upon reaching the rank of Second Lieutenant, granting access to their stock and allowing acquisition of Grand Company-specific minions and Chocobo Bardings. They will also be eligible to change their Grand Company altogether, though doing so will place them at the lowest rank of Private Third Class.

After changing your allegiance, you must wait 15 days before changing again.
The first change is free, but any subsequent changes will cost 50,000 gil.
Upon returning to a Grand Company after a transfer, your previous rank will be restored, allowing you to 'max out' all three Grand Companies if you wish.

To add to this, when you change Grand Companies, your rank and seals in the previous one don't change. Once the 15 days are up, you can change back and be right where you were.

Thank you all for your answers!
So the informations I gathered were correct ; and they tell you at a mission level 20 that you could change grand company but you cannot do so before level 47.
I still think this is deceiving, even so the GC has little concequence to being able to play with your friends (a good thing I don't want to PVP just yet ....)

Its not really worth changing GC until you have fully unlocked the squadron features and highest rank - then again it's not really worth changing it at all unless you want a particular glamor or engage in frontline pop

Even for PvP it doesn't matter anymore.
