Game Locks up Computer

When playing the game, my entire screen will freeze and lock up - I can only recovered by hard resetting the computer.

This is the only game that causes this, I play many other games with zero issues. I have tested DX11 and DX9 both cause this issue.

My drivers / windows updates are all current. I installed software to monitor my temperature of CPU / GPU and everything seems fine. The lock up often happens within moments of starting the game.

The screen freezes on my primary monitor with a solid color then nothing works until I hard reset.

Windows 10
Nvidia GTX 980
Intel i7-5930K CPU @ 3.50 Ghz


Just to reiterate, all other games I play work just fine, many far more taxing on my system than FF14. Game is basically unplayable for me.

Are you able to provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
