    1. You need to use the "reply with quote" option or nobody will know which post you are replying to.

    2. If this is aimed at me, I already said it's not about whether it's only happening on your screen. I don't want it happening to my character, whichever screen they appear on.

And no, I am not arguing this because I want to dress as a bikini tank. Quite the opposite.

Right, but isn't it also 'ridiculous and unreasonable' to barge into a thread requesting an ultimately harmless, client side only option and say 'no, you HAVE to perceive me as I desire, and if you dislike it, the onus is on you to leave the duty and not play the game?

Again, I personally wouldn't use the option outside of maybe once or twice to see how it looks, but going so far as to even regard an optional change to the system- the mere thought that you may be unable to impose your personal expression on every given other player you meet- as something which cannot possibly be tolerated is incredibly closed-minded.

Only if you also think it would be "ridiculous and unreasonable" for someone to object if a photo was taken of them, then edited to show them wearing something that they would not wear and do not want to be pictured wearing.

It hasn't actively harmed them but it has taken their image and altered it.

And again, no doubt it varies with personal perception but a photo of you can still be thought of as "you". To do something to a photograph of a person is an extension of doing it to them, especially if other people then see it and it's still associated with that person's identity.

You haven't forced the actual person to change their appearance, but you've changed it nevertheless.

It's unreasonable and ridiculous to post in an open forum and not expect some kind of feedback, be it positive or negative. And it's unreasonable to tell the dev team to spend their time disabling the stuff their art team spent time and money creating.

There may be a reason why someone dresses like they do: Maybe they are roleplaying. Maybe they are cosplaying. Maybe it represents their attitude and character. Maybe they just want to show off some hard earned glamour they are proud of. Whatever their reasons, you may not like it and you don't need to look at them, but when you do you shouldn't see someone or something else, because it wouldn't be what they want you to see.

If my characters could speak, they would probably say something like: "If you look at me, please notice me as how I am and not as how you want me to be." but I guess that would be too cheesy

Sounds like a waste of dev time when we have things like the shisui set, among other things.

Another thing, about what you love and enjoy about final fantasy games: GodKefka for example is one of those shirtless guys too. XIIs Vaans upper body is practically naked. Snow and Fang were the best 'Defenders' in FF XIII and just google how they dress. Noctis is adventuring in street clothes most of his time. THIS GUY is the original Gunbreaker wearing his... uh, leather jacket 'armour'. And most of tanking/dmg-reduction comes from magical shields and barriers anyway, not from steel plates.

Also another thing: While I don't wear the bikini, I do usually sport the tank top or fireglass vest and sturdy cloth leggings when tanking. I like my character to feel light and nimble when I tank, hence why my paladin set sports the small shield and longsword combo, and my GNB set uses the slim High Steel Bayonet. The idea that tanks must be BIG CHONK is absolutely absurd to me, especially gunbreaker.

If I want to turn battle effects on/off for my character, party members and others I have the options to do so and it does not affect your character or gaming experience. Also you would not know if I'm using the feature. So, if there is a feature that allows me to disable the visual effects of glamoured gear on my screen and it does affect what you see on your screen, what's the problem?

As Kalin said earlier, it's not the same thing.

Disabling effects is a performance/visibility issue.

It also doesn't affect how the character appears. Everyone has the same spell effects and turning them off isn't changing anything about how I chose to customise my character.
