Retainer Boost Issue

Hi, I recently purchased a Lvl 70 Retainer Boosting Potion for my main character Nytefoxx, However, when I try to use the boost potion it says,'You can only advance your retainer as far as level 61, to match your current level.' My current level on my main toon is level 70 , this doesn't make any sense, please help. I opened a ticket with support to Square Enix also; just want to see if the community may be able to assist also.

Is the job of your retainer the same as the job you have at 70? Retainer max level isn't determined by your highest job's level, but rather your level in the job your retainer has. E.g. if your retainer is a black mage then it can only be as high in level as your level in black mage even if you have another job that is higher.

If it is not, it is possible to change the job of your retainer by purchasing a job reset item from your grand company and talking to the retainer advocate. Since it looks like you have Dancer as your 70 job, I would recommend making your retainer a dancer before using the boost.

As mentioned above, the job you boost your retainer would be the same as your job. So, to boost your retainer as a WHITE MAGE, you yourself must have a WHITE MAGE of similar or higher level.
