Un-instillation issues

I'm currently trying to uninstall the game but it seems impossible, and I've searched but other methods just aren't working. I have the game through steam, and have tried uninstalling it through steam but that's just the launcher. I've tried using the "ffxivuninstaller" file that's in the game files, but that doesn't do anything. Instead of actually doing anything, trying to launch the uninstaller file tries to launch something in the background for maybe a milisecond, then closes it and nothing ends up happening. I've tried deleting all of the files manually, but that didn't do anything. I'm a bit stuck right now, so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.

To uninstall the game, you can simply delete the install folder. Can you elaborate on what is preventing you from deleting the files?
