    Garuda fight

So i cant help but wonder how this will turn out. What i HOPE is not is another throw ranged only fight at it. Cause when i think Garuda i think great Wind based so Evasion is gonna be bullshit. and Like Ifrit have a 2nd phase explosion that do 400 dmg the fire blast not the giant WS dome effect one except now with Garuda it be a knockback effect. need more Melee DD friendly fights

I don't care what we use, as long as they do something about the loot system.

Garuda fight could go a lot of ways, wind has a lot of variety to it. She could create a whirldwind surrounding the area which could grow smaller as the fight progresses forcing people to move in closer and closer to garuda while putting more and more of the party into the range of AOEs. Another thing that could happen is Garuda could create mini-whirlwinds which immoblize a target for a certain amount of time making them unable to perform any actions. She could create a massive storm to toss around everyone and place them all over the arena to throw them off their game and force the players to reorganize into the fight again. I highly doubt that Garuda will be friendly to any sort of fighting style. It's quite possible that Garuda could have two stances, one which creates a whirlwind causing "Choke" damage to those that come near it, and then another stance which does the same thing except to those in long range. In one sense since Garuda will be able to move around, healers will have to have heavy focus on Garuda when the whirlwind is around her to prevent the tank from dying while DD can attempt to take in swings while trying to eliminate the amount of dmg they take.

But ya, there really is no telling how the fight will actually go but I would imagine there can be a lot of variety to the fight and they'll prolly make a lot of use over the concept of wind like they did with Ifirit's fire and such lol.

While I do prefer Ifrit with 1 war tank, 2 whms and 5 thms it can easily be done with melees as well. I had a (rather surprising) run the other day with 3 melees besides the tank and only 1 whm. And it worked fine.

I think the main problem with Ifrit is that so many people have leveled so fast that they don't know how to play their jobs properly. I personally dislike pick-up groups for that very reason.

And then there's the issue of the server delay spikes which are quite annoying too of course ^^

So to be honest I don't see Garuda becoming much different because you just need a fool-proof strategy every time because of these factors.

Popular Ifrit tactic shortly after implementation; 6x LNC healer and tank (later patches LNC got replaced with 6x THM)
Moogle shortly became a 5-6x ARC fest.
The current dungeons are 50-50 on melee to ranged ratio (miser favor meele heavily while chimera favor ranged).

With Garuda we can always hope SE actualy manages to pull off a boss fight that favors a balanced group(not likely).

Also in before the "I CANT MOVE FROM THE TORNADOS DUE TO ANIMATION LOCK/SERVER LAGG!" qq threads starts surfacing shortly after Garuda patch : p

1x WAR, 2X WHM 3X BRD 2X BLM. win in 6mins 43 seconds. my personal best.

Yeah, currently, the light melee (as opposed to heavy melee) seem to be getting the shaft or are just one-fight-wonders.

Would be nice to see singular, larger, and more durable trash mobs that can't be AoEed down easily or packs that are simply heavily resistant to magic. Maybe tone down on the self-AoEs and the huge cleave radi that the bosses seem to come standard-packed with

Maybe have that resistance (on either trash or bosses) removed (temporarily or for the whole duration of the fight) via incapacitations to Special (Rear) or their Left Arm (Maim and Heavy Thrust respectively), require a lot of dispelling via comboed Demolish, or maybe 2-3 of those (all of which I prefer to call a "Can-Opener" scenario).

This is a great idea, and I hope at least this is something they think about implementing in some form in 2.0, I mean the incap system is already there, its just not used to its full potential as your idea could expand it towards.

Yes, lotsa wind damage and tons of evasion for Garuda please...

Kill Ifrit, get weapon. (gonna need that attack!)
Use Ifrit weapon to kill Moogles, get weapon. (gonna need that accuracy!)
Use Moogle weapon to kill Garuda, get weapon.
    Use Garuda weapon to kill...

And so begins the epic chain of why we must kill all the primals in the proper order!!!

Hmm actually after i saw Doctor Mog video about speed run in AV which party setup is every job and whm*2.
That video make it clear that , you can use every jobs you like it really is possible to clear the content
just the problem is that other players always prefer party set up that let them play easier.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVlLSzCff_o

As you can see before someone already proven that
PGL party can also replace ARC in Moogle fight before this jobs patch coming.

Problem lies in other ppl prefered , and it can't be help.
