I have been getting this error randomly while playing. and the game crash with DirectX 11 fatal error 11000002

When exactly did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this? Do you notice any pattern to the crashes you are experiencing (only in certain locations, while doing certain actions, etc.)?

I have a 3700x/5700xt too and I've been getting this crash a lot over the past month since I picked up this card.

It seems to be something with shaders getting corrupted and the clock ramping with Navi. It happens the most to me in Frontlines and when interacting with menus or NPC's that bring up menus. Clearing the shader cache temporarily resolves the issue, but it's only a matter of time before it happens again. I noticed Radeon Chill works for me now though and that seems to be a good work around for now. It keeps the clock more in check (the game never runs at max fps with Chill on. 50-75 with an fps cap of 100) and I haven't had this error since. You could also try downclocking the card significantly. I'm on driver version 19.12.1.

Having the same problem suddenly started happening today and making it impossible to play the game, there were no updates etc on the pc and my graphic card is ancient to begin with so it has the newest drivers installed, checked dx11, removed and redownloaded drivers had a sound boosting program disabled it in case yet still game freezes and when i try to do something i recieve this error. Tried running the game fullscreen and borderless i was playng it on borderless screen before. Here is the system info.

If anyone checking this out it seems like i solved the problem cleaning my chrome cookies, just that all those driver updates resets dx 11-12 removal and redownloads etc didn't but cookies did solve it, had no help from any game employee tho...

I have a 3700x/5700xt too and I've been getting this crash a lot over the past month since I picked up this card.

It seems to be something with shaders getting corrupted and the clock ramping with Navi. It happens the most to me in Frontlines and when interacting with menus or NPC's that bring up menus. Clearing the shader cache temporarily resolves the issue, but it's only a matter of time before it happens again. I noticed Radeon Chill works for me now though and that seems to be a good work around for now. It keeps the clock more in check (the game never runs at max fps with Chill on. 50-75 with an fps cap of 100) and I haven't had this error since. You could also try downclocking the card significantly. I'm on driver version 19.12.1.

I'd return it if you still can and just get a 2060S, especially if you play older games. Looking at reports online, it's not much slower, it will just work and I think you can get adaptive sync working on most monitors without gsync now.

These things will get sorted out eventually but man... kinda wish I waited longer now to upgrade my PC. This direct x error will probably never go away either. Given it's history... it's a game engine issue and probably not fixable. The 5700 cards just happen to trigger it more often...

I think I found the issue (with the 5700 series at least). It has to do with the 90 fps cap the game had when Shadowbringers launched but ended up removing. Basically FFXIV becomes unstable at high fps with this card and you need to cap fps at 90 or lower. 90 is what the game's internal testing found to be stable..

This lines up with what I'm seeing in game. I had Chill set with min 50, max 100 when I first posted. This kept my fps under 90 almost all the time. The crashes mainly happen in PVP, healing alliance raids and when dealing with retainers. With how Chill works, this makes sense. These are scenarios where I'm moving my mouse a lot so my fps would spike up over 90 and cause instability. This would explain the randomness of the crashes, why downclocking the GPU seems to help and why FFXIV is the only game giving me issues. Once I capped my fps at 90 instead of a 100, I haven't crashed since (4 days and counting!). I'm still on driver version 19.12.1.
