I'd like to wear the vest for men from valentione event for women and vice versa

I learned that the genders are locked. But I think the male vest would look great for women and some men may appreciate having the dress. I drew what I think the vest will look like on my character and my feelings when I discovered it is locked away~

I second this, and I think we should be able to choose either of them. While the dress looks great, I can't imagine this as something my character would wear. I think in this instance, she would prefer the shirt and vest.

I would absolutely wear both yes. My dancer would look very nice in that dress, and that shirt/vest would look great with any number of other glamours.

Yes, please. If there's anything I loathe about the fashion choices in this game, it's that I can't make my character wear vests and ties.
Aside from the Vampire Vest from the Mog Station, there is next to no such option in the game. It's a bit disheartening to see they're continuing with these gender restrictions, despite Yoshi-P's interview with Kotaku mid-2019 where he said they'd gradually start lifting them.

I am sick to death of the only female option being a frilly dress. Frilly dresses do not fit the persona of my Thighlander at all.

I don't mind gender locked gear so much in general but why does it have to be skirts, frilly dresses, or skimpy 'sexy' outfits every time? I like a nice dress as much as the next girl, but come on. Why is the art team so afraid of letting women wear pants?

Also, WHY CAN'T WE DYE MATCH THE BLACK!? Seriously, no dye matches the black in this outfit. Find a different pair of gloves, pants, whatever that you think would glamour better with the dress? Too bad, sucks to be you. The event gear only color matches itself. (And despite what SE claims, you can't exactly match the colored parts either. Dalamud red is close, but not quite exactly the same as the red in the rose set.)

Is not even black, it's brown.

The rare Dark Brown dye is the closest match but it's still not perfect.

But that's due to a general philosophy regarding clothing distribution in this game.

More tailored outfits, less everything for everyone.
