Only thing I would like is a modern UI (it's 2020).

And another thing though slightly of topic is that they would actually hire (more) in house English speaking forum mods (and also more of the devs).
If you take a look at the JP forum they are much more active there.

We pay the same money, we should not be treated as second class citizen dirt that nobody cares about.
(compare it to the NPC's living in the slums under Eulmore) while SE and the JP community is sitting above in the riches, that is how I honestly feel as a member of the international community.

Better editing tools
Better mobile site (I switched to full site and I can actually edit posts but the font scaling is all kinds of wonky now)

Not essential but maybe a dark mode... The sites not like blinding or anything so that's just more preference here

Omg, I've forgot about this annoyance of not being able to edit with the mobile phone. Did just added it to my list too.
Such a simple feature, it surprises me it's not possible yet.

Have you ever wondered how this forum system could have more modern functions and Quality of Life similar to other places or even new ones? Are you fine of how some systems are handled here? This thread is being created for the purpose of feedback and incentive for a update for our forum.

1- Do we really need it?
Yes, why not? If FFXIV wants to bring more players to voice out their feedback in a clean space about the game these platforms need to be as good as possible. We don't need to start big, little by little makes a long term great deal.

All I want is if a post is Moderated in some way (i.e removed or a cause of a suspension from the boards) I WANT TO KNOW WHY. When I say that, I want to know the EXACT violation of the Forum rules, and an explination of how it was against them. It's not that hard. It happens on MANY other forums.

This is one of the most popular themes of posts on here ... Why was I banned/had a post removed threads.

It would be great if moderators actually came down to the world of us mortals and actually slap warnings on users or in the thread instead of straight up strike or ban without explaining where they went wrong (when it's not apparent or obvious). It's not just a deterrent for them but also for anyone else that mayhap repeat the offence without knowing it's an actual offence.

This as well. Red names (moderators) in the EverQuest 2 forums actually make posts in the topic when things are getting out of had or some Moderation is done. It is very helpful as well as letting customers know that things are being looked at.

As we can see from the community’s Reddit interactions in regards to down voting, ( you know who you are :P ) a down vote button would be heavily abused here. As anything that even remotely goes against a norm would be down voted into oblivion. I think that’s why the devs didn’t want a down vote button here in the first place.

To Hide threads is becoming more desired feature each day passes.

Removing outdated day limit for posts. I know why it was created, but that time passed and also community became much bigger so 20 posts per day sometimes is simply not enough for finishing even one discussion, and when you come back next day the topic is... well, already somewhere else and diggin a post from 10 pages ago looks more like necroing.
If it's impossible to remove it for any reason, at least update cap limits for 60/70/80 levels because now 50 level is last one in "upgraiding" chain.

Better tools for formatting posts would be good indeed. Some design update is welcomed as well, though it's not bad now too.

One more think I've noticed again recently, threads that are already done in the first reply and people just keep repeating themselves answering the same thing in different ways, I don't understand why.
It would be nice if we could have the option tolock our own threads to avoid that, and to potentially avoid necroing too.

It kinda annoys me when my profile picture stays with my "weird glamour" job. I would like to have more control over that. Or at least a informative UI explaining how it works in order to avoid that case.
