What settings are you playing at? This is pretty much the exact same build I'm going to upgrade to.Asus M4A78T-E Mobo
AMD P IIx4 955 @ 3.2ghz
8 gig of G. SKill ripgaws DDR3
ATI Radeon 6950 2gig DDR 5
WD Black HDD
750w Cosair PWS
Win7 64bit
No monitor yet so I have to use my home theather tv which is 52" sony bravia xbr9 (probably bad idea)
Crap keyboard and mouse
Like others above me I get good score in WIE but my hdd drags it down to 5.9. The game seems to run fine but I am too familar going about setting on vid card (need help w/ that). I also get the occasional stutter that I see some also experience, idk if it's my crappy hdd or what. But I seem to run @ a solid 60fps most times. I have also experienced the famous directX device not available error and still haven't found a solid answer to this issue, haven't gotten it from any other game before.
Thnx to the OP for this thread I am glad to see what other people are running for XIV pros and cons to help make everyone else have an easier time running this game with your solutions and equipment. Now if I can only find something on making decent videos.

Have you tried with depth of field off? LoL I know a lot of people are starting to prefer it that way now. The background doesn't have the blurriness to it.CASE: ANTEC 900

All together with case, 22 inch Samsung screen, extra cooler, keyboard mouse and so on for about 1400 USD.
I had a nvidia GFX card before but i get better score with the ATI.
I made another rig for my GF, a bit cheaper, no SSD, normal DDR3 RAM version (Geil) and the new AMD series CPU.
The AMD CPU dragged down the score by a lot...

Currently Windows 7 rates me as a 7.3/7.9 on performance...good enough for me
FFXIV runs absolutely flawless, no skip, jitter or lag anywhere I go...just like a console...like a movie
This actually opens a far more reaching topic...all this PC power for flawless play when a simple PS3 for $399 will do exactly the same thing in months to come. Something to think about really, play on PS3 on a 55" HDTV on the couch or play on a $3000 PC? Weird huh that the Cell is still better than what PC can do?
Comparing computers is pretty much mute...its a Console designed game...once PS3 release PC users will have to have massive power to keep up...its NOT a PC game and never will be

Wow Mhati that is a really nice system! Thanks for posting, your hard drive gives you 7.3 on WEI? that's nuts! I really need to update my hard drive /cry I am only getting a 5.9 on my hard drive. How much did you pay for your SSD? is that a Vertex 2? or is Vertex turbo something completely different? I wish I went for the ripjaws tooWell, my computer is just my "run of the mill" computer until PS3 release and even then it will still be my "run of the mill" daily use computer.
