There are too many unobtainable items in this game.

Mainly mounts, but yeah there's just too much stuff that's impossible to get. Either it's behind the PvP wall or exclusive to Feast prizes, it's behind the overpriced Mogstation paywall or it's simply been removed from the game and impossible to get at all, like the Regalia or the GARO items (I'm still pissed off about being denied any GARO mounts because Squeenix could be bothered to properly balance PVP and locked me to Serpents when Maelstrom always wins.)

It's utterly ridiculous. Why do we need to have half the content in this game barred from being obtained just from playing the game? Is my $15/mo not good enough for you, Squeenix?

You know, you could play PvP anytime you want, right? I took a one year hiatus in the midst of the GARO event and came back two months before it ended and yet did manage to obtain all mounts and titles from said collaboration. Just because I actually put in some effort.

Besides - those rewards for different gamemodes are incentives for players to actually try out said features and modes. If you'd obtain everything just by being logged in, what even is the point of playing a game? You get gifts on your birthday and for christmas already.

The problem I see is that it's locked behind walls you don't like. That has nothing to do with "actually putting effort in" (as in: She wants everything for free by being logged on - that's something you made up and hasn't bein implied by her at all.) I for example think PvP in this game is awful on many, no, all levels and if I would want something that is locked behind that, I am basically out. I can understand that the world is not catering around us individually, but it's still a valid complaint in my eyes, as it's only a virtual world and thus "everything can be made possible".

There was a game where you could only gather your final skills when you were raiding. I've been a Priest in the game but could never become a Bishop because the massive effort required for that was ridiculous. Since then I am absolutely allergic to rewards like these. You know, you could also rotate trough the rewards. That's like having a corporate event, invite all staff just to have a buffet with pork and then tell the muslims: "YoU cOuLd JuSt EaT it! It Is YoUr FaUlT tHeN!!"

Locking out people behind crappy/certain content is never a good idea.

What's wrong with it in your opinion?

All that FirstnameLastname did was take initiative to get the mounts he wanted from PVP and said to work hard for rewards that the plethora of FFXIV content provides if one really wants them in their collection.
