You should actually check, because new people are joining XI every day and when you're done butthumping Blizzard and WoW you'd know WoW is actually on the decline and has been for awhile, even Blizzard admits it's going downhill a bit, especially with their focus on Diablo III.

I play both games. Do you? WOW is in decline no shit, yes it went down from 15 mil to 10 mill as of nov 2011. That's about 100 times or more the player base of XI. But regardless i only mentioned WOW for its talent tree as it is an example everyone will know. So the only person sucking up to a CIE here is you sucking up to S-E because you have a hard time admiting XI is dead and would like to revive it in 14. Grow up seriously and research before saying things that make you look like a fool.

Yes I do. You're basically stating one game is dead while the other is untouched and hasn't declined at all in its 7-8 year run. WoW has "millions of subs", you know how many people I count actually playing on my server? No where near a million I can assure you. You know how many I've done dungeons with? No where near a million or 10 million, I've run into the same group of people numerous times.

People are caught up on big numbers that mean absolutely nothing in your game play experience. Guess what other game has more subs than WoW? Cityville/Farmville, guess how many people you're likely to play with? Everyone on your facebook flist who actually plays.

Please stop before embarrassing yourself even more. Again you talk without even knowing what you are saying. 10 million subscribers, world wide that is. With server grouped by area, NA, Europe and latin America. Then these regions are split into servers and there is a lot of them. Some servers with low pop and some with high and if you are expecting to see 1mill or 10 mill into a single server at a single time then my friend you should rethink the whole thing before writing. The average pop is 4-5K per servers in any given mmo.

Farmville? Really? You are comparing that to wow and XIV? How about street fighter or need for speed while we are at it?

You seem to have trouble understanding simple things, which is cool. A game has 10 million subs, what point are you making? "Average server population is 3-4k on most MMOs these days", FFXI hits that, with less than 10 million subs.

So again, how am I incorrect in stating that sub numbers mean absolutely in the long run to a player? No one said you'll be playing with 10 million people, but you make it as though that's what people should be expecting, when my whole point was huge numbers means nothing to the player because you will never in your career interact with them all ever, not even on official forums.

As sad as this is..yeah, FFXIV is what you'd consider dead if you want to say an MMO is "dead".

Agreed. Even with the progress in the last few months, this game is still lifeless.

Why anyone would argue about taking ideas from any previous MMO at this point is beyond me. But its happening in every thread. Don't get me wrong, I'm playing FFXIV right now, its getting better. But it has leaps and bounds, and quite honestly light years before it can be put up there with the rest of the big boys.

XIV is not dead. Just very broken but that's old new to everyone here. We sure are not fooling ourselves into thinking XIV is any kind of success. S-E knows it too that is why 2.0 is being built. If S-E does it right, then we will turn that 10k into a million.

Just curious about something tho', that 325k number.... where did you pull that from?
