How come the msq keeps using big words?

I'm not an english major so I don't know these big words. But omg can we all agree to chill with the big words. How come urianger and even the crystal Miqote use words like "puissant"? What does "by his most puissant hands" even mean lol? Do you want people to carry a dictionary when they do the msq? Because if you are you succeeded congrats looooool.

I now see why everyone in this game is a pedantic know-it-all. Because the MSQ forces them to constantly look up Wikipedia and a dictionary, which are wrong half the time if you paid attention in class. There's a reason your English teacher always told you to not use Wikipedia as a source, but sadly the people in this game probably dozed off during English.

I'm used to speech by this point. I know some by the character Urianger and some just by picking up a dictionary. Also there was a video game that I watched a playthrough. Whenever you've made a bond with a character. The game will speak in old English

Im actually curious how the Japanese version sounds. Cause I was thinking of switching on Japanese to help me learn the language but if it ends up using these old fashioned words too in Japanese I dont want too even touch that.

No, the archaic language is the English localization going too far. In Japanese, Urianger speaks formally but even children should have the vocabulary to understand the game.
