Reaching RDM level 60

Ok, I'm going to reach level 60 tonight with my RDM. I didn't play Stormblood, so I will begin that. I have some level 60 Magic Gear from my BLM and 2000 Allaghan poetics. How long the Shire stuff ilevel 260 will be good? Do I will buy better stuff at level 63 in a shop somewhere? Is it worth buying the Shire stuff and augment it? Thanks!

The shire stuff lasts until about 64. The Stormblood MSQ starts giving you HQ gear as quest rewards and that can carry you until 70. But the gear doesn't give you better stats until you start getting the 64 stuff (not looking at iLevel, but Job level).

Is it worth it? Hard to say. I'd get the weapon, but to be quite honest, the quest gives you all the free gear you need. It's worth more to use your poetics on side jobs than on a main job, because the side jobs will not likely get replacements easily whereas the main job will be getting all the replacements.
