Which Gen is Everyone From?

Early millennial, I guess it enters what you all are calling an in between. Growing up playing in the mud, and then internet/videogames as an adult.

I'm a late millennial, though I 100% look like I'm like 16 because I have a major baby face.

I was born late 70's. My first video games were on Atari, where I played PacMan and Pinball. We got a NES for Christmas and I played Mario, Duckhunt, and Mike Tyson's Punchout. I remember the unveiling and hype of Super Mario 3 and the excitement of the kids at my school about the graphics. We got a SNES at a garage sale along with Super Mario World, and somehow we were lucky enough to have two Gameboys to share, the first portable gaming systems. The games on there were too easy lol. On NES and SNES, only the very best gamers ever made it to the last levels, but we beat Mario and Kirby on Gameboy in a few hours.

PlayStation and FFVII came out and changed the gaming world forever. The complexity and graphics were far beyond what we ever had before, and for the first time we could save! Previous to this, you either played a game straight through from morning to late evening (if you could survive), or you used a code to skip levels. You'd still only have 3 lives that way, though, in most cases. If you wanted to have more lives, you had to play through from level 1 and gather them.

I'm also in the "Oregon trail" group. I cut my teeth on the Atari 2600 and a TV that had pong. I set a permanent record at Word Munchers at the computer lab in elementary school. I played Drug War on my calculator in high school. I got addicted to modern games and FFXI just after college.

I don't raid any more (Dynamis in XI sucked up way too much of my life) but I like to play games casually, long and deep, and XIV is excellent for that.
