This isnt a "the world is ending thread" its me saying, I'm disappointed in new content. Its 100% cold hard fact, as quoted in my previous post, that content is in fact being reduced. Openly said by Square-Enix.

Oh i speak english. I read it very well too. I'm also very immune to the standard complaining on this forum. I make judgements about the quality of the game all by myself. I don't need to agree with your point of view and I don't.

The issues with GNB and DNC to me were noticable instantly, so to me they are very obvious. Anyone playing this game for any extended period of time is going to notice the decline in quality.

No crafted weapons aside, the “issues” you have listed with these two jobs have not been echoed by anyone else to my knowledge. You’re really reaching to call things like sounds and animations “issues” for either of these jobs when DNC is arguably still one of the weakest DPS jobs even after Patch 5.1 gave it a small buff. You seem to be the only one who cares about these. There isn’t a post in this thread that agrees with you when it comes to GNB/DNC lacking in these departments. The only agreement you’ve gotten with regards to GNB/DNC is being disappointed by the lack of primal weapons. Ultimately, these are your personal nit-picks—they are not “cold hard facts”, and I think you need to learn the difference between opinions and facts before you make another thread like this.

Honestly, I’m still wondering if you’ve even played DNC, given your past comments about how the job doesn’t have mechanics to it.


In terms of quality, I still disagree that DNC and GNB are lacking or are a victim of “declining quality”; especially considering your standards of quality are, according to your OP, limited purely to weapon sounds, animations, and variance in weapon glamour. I don’t see a single comment about the actual design or flow of the jobs listed there.

Speaking for the job I main, most of the DNC design complaints boil down to things like “this isn’t like FFXI DNC” (seen that one a few times on here), “it doesn’t have enough/varied support for a support DPS” (this is also a complaint with ShB BRD as well), or “I don’t like the RNG and want to see it lessened/see a skill to mitigate it” (because DNC does have layers of RNG to it with procs, feathers, and Esprit). There have also been suggestions to change the levels at which we learn certain skills, but that usually ties in with the “mitigating RNG” point people bring up. People aren’t complaining about the sounds not being good enough, or the animations not being cool enough.

The fact of the matter is, the actual issues that people have brought up with GNB and DNC are usually things related to job balancing. DNC was objectively the weakest DPS job when it was introduced (and it’s still at the bottom, usually only surpassing BRD since Patch 5.1); and people are still advocating for it and the rest of the physical ranged to be adequately balanced against the rest of the DPS jobs in this game. They aren’t advocating for its animations to have more lights and explosions or for its sounds to be different. You are incredibly out of touch if you think the main complaints from DNC and GNB mains are things like “muh animations aren’t cool enough” or “muh sounds sound lame”. The only one of your complaints that is actually in line with community feedback is the one about the lack of weapon glamours—people want primal crafted weapons for the jobs, and I’ve already expressed that I am in agreement with that.

I, once again, bring up the GNB sound changes to you—since you seem to be completely ignoring that subject. Feedback for them is overwhelmingly mixed, and it has been frequently asked on here that they be reverted to how they were (with minor exceptions to certain skills). Changing existing sounds is a double-edged sword that can very easily cause dissatisfaction with players, and I don’t think the developers should change them willy-nilly. They need more feedback than just one person saying “I don’t like the DNC weapon sounds” before they make a decision.

Now, as mentioned, very clearly, by Square-Enix themselves, the quantity is diminishing. Here are sources from Square-Enix, on this game, where they admit openly at removing aspects of the base game that were already available to existing parts of the game, and will no longer be aspects to new content being added.

You are more than allowed to express your disapproval of things. But you cannot pass them off as facts when they are merely your thoughts, feelings, and opinions about different aspects of the game. I wouldn't say halfbaked, but rather that the order in which they released the content isn't optimal.
In 5.1 we got MSQ, 1 dungeon, 24 raid and Ishgard Restoration. Out of those 3, only IR could be seen "niche" content, since not everyone likes crafting/gahtering.
In the next patch we got ultimate, while I have no interest in it, I do believe it has its place in this game. Like all the secret hardcore bosses in the other FF games.
And in the recent patch we got PVP and blue content. Both are not for the majority and blue savages is for an even smaller minority of the player base.

I have nothing against the released content, but I can understand that many are not satisfied with this. SE should have released the new relic in 5.1, content that is not only for everyone, but it also takes a while to complete. And if someone doesn't like the side or "niche" content, they could always do the relic grind instead of... farming copied factory?

Though I have to admit, the races do feel like limited races. But that isn't as bad as the fact, that a new player (or someone who doesn't watch LL, patchnotes,...) has no way of knowing, how gimped those 2 races are. There is no warning in the character creation that those two can't equip most headgear and that they can't use other hairstyles.
If they are going to stay like for a while, at least give the players a big ingame warning about it.

It is true that there is a plethora of content for the more casual player to complete. I agree with statements above mentioning the release date of newer content. Such delays only strive to turn people away from the game and it becomes stagnant. The developers should be determined to release expected content sooner to draw more people back to the game upon new patch cycles.
