[Request] Please consider a delay between the Release of Savage and Story Mode

Hello,

as the title suggests, I would like to see a delay between the release of Story Mode and Savage of the 8 man raids. Story Mode first, then Savage a little later, similar to how it works when an expansion releases.

But don't be angry yet, Raiders! What I would suggest is a delay of 2-3 days, nothing more. So maybe on a Friday if the Patch drops on Tuesday.

My reasoning for this suggestion is the fact that releasing MSQ and both Raid modes at once can put you in a bind. Maybe you want to do MSQ as quickly as possible to avoid spoilers, and when you also want to enjoy the story of the Raid it can become stressful when your static wants to jump into the new savage right away. Imagine you have little time, what to do?

I think the World First Race profits as well. All participants can do the story mode without too much of a hurry, so that all of them can start with Savage after its release right away. No need to hastily skip through the story mode, trying to save as much time as possible.

Eh, I think it's a nice sentiment, but don't think it's really necessary to delay the content? I mean, I only started savaging raiding this tier, and am still pretty scrubby so I'm not like some hardcore World First player by any means, it's just, in my opinion, a delay just means more dates I have to remember and that's more stuff I'll get mixed up.

I know a lot of hardcore raiders actually like the delay between the first tier’s Normal Mode and Savage release. It gives them time to prepare things like potions and the crafted gear for prog. I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

I've had that inner debate recently, because I think they said in the last LL that they considered delaying Savage for a week? I don't know if they "could" do it after 2-3 days because they tend to patch stuff on Tuesdays. If they can, then yes 3 days would be perfect I think, because a week is a bit long, especially for patches X.2 and X.4.

I can see the advantages for this, it would give us a bit more time to "prepare" in a way. I'm talking about crafting obviously, and potentially getting the Ext Trial weapon too. While I'm not a pro-raider / World Race competitor, I like to get in savage when it's out. But I also like to enjoy what's coming with the same patch (like MSQ and normal raid story). So having savage would not have players like me feeling "forced" into rushing crafted gear, normal mode raids to get into Savage before it starts to get a bit spoiled here and there.

I dont think its needed - or even something that they should consider, since there is already an easy solution at hand: Talking with your static and/or finding a static that suits your needs and wishes (for example being more laid back and being fine with not jumping right into Savage on day one).

Avoiding story-spoilers usually isnt to difficult aswell - you dont have to do the MSQ on day one to avoid being spoiled, you can do it just fine the weekend after the patch as long as you dont start reading up on it and maybe turn off chats that have people talking about the story in them.

While I get your request on a personal level - I can feel stressed out by having many different things to unlock at the same time aswell, I dont like your suggestion because it pretty much "forces" everyone to play through this content in the order that you prefer by delaying the raid and "making" everyone go through MSQ first. They could just aswell delay the MSQ til friday with the reasoning that people usually have more time on the weekend to play through this slowly and without rush.
...but I dont think thats a good idea either - we're all adults, we should be able to solve a "problem" like this without the devs giving us even more of a schedudle.

What to do if you have little time is figure out whats more important to you, find a static that supports your wishes in that regard and in order to avoid spoilers simply avoid places where you might encounter them. I dont think that any of that is so difficult that someone cant manage and basically needs SE to make the entire playerbase play through this content within a set order. We're all old enough to make our own choices in that regard here.

I don't see why only Ultimate gets special treatment when the savage races tend to be almost as hyped.

Having time to clear out all the easier content and get geared would be nice.

Nah. There is absolutely no other feeling quite like going into the first fight hour 1 with only your previous BIS to keep you safe.

I mean, nothing is really stopping you from doing that even if there was a slight delay. The first floor is hardly a threat in previous tier BiS anyways.

I work, but I do savages the D-Day with my static. I just haven't the time to go home, do Normal Raids, prepare my gear and go on prog. Yes, I want a delay between Story mode and Savage, pls SE.

I don't want to skip cutscenes in the story mode, I have no choice to gather and craft my gear another day, and even if it's more than enough, I don't like it. Because I have no time to try the new Trial or even start the MSQ.

I would have it release a week later so it retains the proper weekly loot timing, but the idea of a delay to create a more even playing field is something that should definitely be done.

I'm surprised this hasn't been done already. It actually makes more sense to delay Savage than it does to delay Ultimate since there's no new gear or consumables to worry about getting during odd-numbered patches.

It's nice to hear they've at least thought about it but I'm not really sure what would be the reason for holding back on this change.
