I would love to have access to the bedroom on the Fortemps Manor, or maybe a bit more of the manor.

Not sure if that counts (since it would be technically still be limited access, I guess...), but I was always curious to see what the Milvaneth Sacrarium in Ul'dah looked like from the inside and was always hoping that it would end up being a second possible venue for the Eternal Bond ceremony. (Maybe lore-gurus are going to bash me over the head now because that place isnt supposed to be used for that sort of thing, but I still wish we could get married not only in the Twelve Woods but also in other cities and that seemed like a possible prime-spot in Ul'dah to me.)
That being said: The chapel used for the Eternal Bond Ceremony is quite a beautiful place aswell and while I get that its supposed to be "special", it would still be nice to just be able to walk in there and take some more screenshots of the whole water-area, that you can only access while setting up your own ceremony.

Garlemald, Sharlayan and the rest of Hingashi.
I'd love to see Eorzea left behind instead of having everything awkwardly tie back to it.

Seconded! Ilsabard as a continent, with the focus on Garlemald, would be great, and I am dying to see more of Sharlayan and Hingashi. I'm hoping for Garlemald that they will take some inspiration from VII, which would be well timed if they bring it in 6.0... and for Sharlayan, IX is the feel I would like to see them capitalise upon.
As much as it's unlikely to happen, I'd also like to get a proper look at Dalmasca and Golmore Jungle.
In all honesty, I don't really care too much for visits to other "shards" at this point - other planets or the Moon? Maybe, once the Source has been exhausted of all viable content.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:

Some of the platforms we're left standing on while we wait for end-of-storyline raids and trials, like the broken Steps of Faith before Nidhogg, or the Rift before Omega M/F. We got the Royal Menagerie, how about the rest?

the moon i refuse to believe there is nothing of import there.

Right, it's pretty much just a copy of the Ossuary, only the statue inside is slightly different, which is probably the reason for it's no-show, SE seemed to be keen on eliminating 'double ups' of areas when initially designing ARR zones that 1.0 tended to suffer from - areas that were basically repeated constantly with just different names (like Mun-tuy Cellars being virtually the same visual wise as Tam-Tara or Toto-Rak, or Nanawa Mines being identical to Copperbell Mines). Because the Ossuary was specifically the THM's Guild, it was the side of the Order of Nald'thal chosen to be included in ARR, with the 'superflorous' Sacrarium "permenantly closed" for repairs.
Having said that, Earlig's Burial Chamber was eventually opened in a patch for some reason so maybe there is still hope one day the Sacrarium will also be restored too.
My own personal wishes for open access in the game would be Ala Mhigo proper (maybe call the dungeon 'Occupied Ala Mhigo' or something to differentiate it from the open city) - the Ala Mhigan Quarter in the Lochs isn't enough.
And although it's probably what we will be doing next in ShB, but more of Emet's reconstruction of Amaurot being opened up will be very pleasing - I know there is a new dungeon set there coming in 5.2 (the civillian residential area I believe?) but more of the 'open city' section where the background is as an extension of the Tempest zone would also be great. Especially that big castle like tower in the background behind the Capitol building, what is that for? It was never explained at all and as I'm so curious to find out more about Amaurotine civilization this would be great to visit.![]()
