I honestly think we are to the point now that weeb is bordering on being a slur. Maybe it always was.

I don't see it used any differently from the way people toss the phrase Karen around. A difference however I noticed is that real weebs actually treat it more like a compliment than an insult. Same for Otaku. Infact businesses have even started adopting those phrases into their advertisements. Maybe it's origins were intended to be a slur but it's definitely one that has backfired over the years.
