I miss it a lot too! It actually makes me really sad when he asks those questions and now your character just looks at them blankly instead of replying. Is it weird that I miss the dialogue options Gaius used to have in Prae? When the cutscenes were made unskippable, they all defaulted to the "...." answer, but you used to be able to pick at a few points. It made about as much difference as any other dialogue option in the game, but it was still a nice touch.

They were a nice callback to the opening cutscene of ARR, when you're riding the wagon and the driver is asking you (rather similar) questions. That said, if I remember correctly from when they were still in place, the answers Gaius gave you didn't change AT ALL. No matter how you answered, "Hmph. How very glib." Probably because it was voiced dialogue, and they didn't want to record multiple responses.

WOL: stares blankly
Gaius: How very glib.

It is a bit funnysad, watching him go on and on with his monologue, while we just stare into space. He prepared this whole big speech, and we can't even give a grunt of acknowledgement.
At this point we may as well be /dozing, I don't think he'd even notice.
