    It is because people were skipping cutscenes and leaving new players in the dust that they made them this way. It is fine as is. Were fast clears nice? Yeah, they were. But the toll it took on new players was too much, and the community deserved what they got regarding this change. If someone doesn't like the MSQ roulette then they don't have to queue for it.

    Actually, they can. See guildhest roulette.

    That said, it's still a bad idea as it eliminates a viable roulette for leveling and tomestones.

I even just looked up the term "Hard-coded" to not confuse it, and I wonder what's hard- and soft code here anyways with 1.0 slumbering underneath? They already changed it to be non-skippable from skippable, and I am sure that simple change does not require any sort of deep code.

    Uhmm, unless it was coded really that bad, normally it should be just short check in the beginning of the code, where it checks if it's a certain dungeon and then sets the setting for the whole instance. So technically, it should be just a toggle.

    However, there is a reason why these two dungeons are like this now, and unless they are going to remove the Roulette entirely and swap it into Trust Duty it will stay as it is now.

    As I said, it can either be skippable or non-skippable, but not both at the same time because there is only one version of the cutscenes in the game. You can watch them in the inn and see that they are unskippable there as well. The skippability is part of the cutscenes themselves, so to make them skippable again, they have to replace the cutscenes with a skippable version. Yes, they can switch between skippable and non-skippable... by patching the game. They can't currently do so with a simple in-game option.

    This is just going by what I've read, at least. Obviously I can't confirm that it is 100% true without access to the actual assets.

    Not "set in stone forever," like he said it would just require an overhaul. If skippable and non-skippable are in fact hard coded states for this roulette then SE would have to develop something more robust to allow the scenario to switch between skippable and non-skippable on it's own based on specific conditions.

    Many threads but they should be a check in place and those who have cleared be able to skip cs but still have a lock in place for like the boss and such.
    I stopped doing MSQ all together because the having to endure cs and be able to not do anything but wait for Cid's slow *s! gives me anxiety..
    Prae should be removed all together from MSQ Roulette.. ugh

    They put the skips back in and all those sweet, sweet EXP and tomestone bonuses are going away. There is a reason those dungeons were deader than dead before the skips were removed and the rewards increased appropriately to compensate and they're only going to go back to being dead once more if these changes are implemented. You don't get to keep the 'carrot' enticing people to queue into these dungeons if the very reason it was added is taken away, reducing the dungeons to little better than an average dungeon in length.

    Yes and then new players won't be able to do prae without waiting 5 hours.
