Australia is experiencing devastating wild fires all across thier continent, so as a means of us as adventures to make a real world difference I want to ask the FFXIV Game Developers to please create a Kangaroo mount for purchase on the online Mog Station store. For this mount however have all proceeds from customer purchases to be used as a donation fund for the Wildlife of Australia. They need heros both big and small to help make a difference and save a life. Let us, the Warriors of Light/Darkness, be there for our neighbors in Australia!

The wildfires are caused by climate change. No need to dance around the topic. Square Enix should confront climate change by making their game servers be 100% dependent on renewable energy sources instead instead of a kangaroo mount. They should be selling windmills, nuclear reactors, and hydroelectricity plants as mounts and minions instead.

Well, this irl issue is affecting my gaming, I have friends in Oz who play this game, one hasn't played since the fires started. I don't want them to lose their homes or their lives.

Also, despite the devestation the amount of FFXIV players actually affected by this disaster would be comparatively few given the fires are mostly affecting low populated rural areas - a significant portion of the people being evacuated are not residents but tourists caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. That doesn't mean there wouldn't be some players affected however, but unfortunately it's in the terms of service every player agrees to when they sign up that SE are not held liable for loss of service or inability for players to access the game during natural disasters, especially when it's a disaster that does not affect the game at all directly. That's just being realistic.

And we already have an example of famous Australian fauna in the game anyway so a kangaroo mount would be superflorous (besides, where are you going to ride a kangaroo? In it's pouch? This isn't a cartoon, there's much more mucous. ).

Seriously though, the koala joey minon already is in the game so Aussie fauna is taken care of in FFXIV.

Here's a twitter thread about places to donate, either be for the people who have lost everything and need relief, people who are trying to rebuild and restore, or to help out with preserving the flora and wildlife. You can also donate to any Fire Service in Australia which seems like the most direct option to deal with the fires itself. I'm sure there's more charities to look out for though.

I don't recommend neither Red Cross or Salvation Army because of certain issues like how Red Cross isn't transparent about their cost breakdowns and only sparing a small margin of their donations to the cause, and Salvation Army being a discriminatory "charity" and notorious for being discriminatory towards LGBT+ people, even ones that they were supposed to be helping.
