One dungeon per patch!?

I'm still waiting to see what benefit there was in deleting the second dungeon in every other patch....

I don't have high hopes we'll get anything for now only getting one per patch. And I expect expert roulette will be even more of a boring slog to do than it was before.

Possibly all the new contents in Stormblood (Ultimate, Baldesion Arsenal, etc.).

Maybe.... I abandoned Eureka early on, so I can't speak to the arsenal as content... but couldn't that be considered that we lost 4 dungeons so that they could make 1?

In SB, you 'lost' three dungeons. (4.1, 4.3 and 4.5 only having one dungeon as opposed to the 2 per patch in HW.)

You 'gained' the Arsenal, two Ultimate fights, and four zones for Eureka. With quests, several Notorius Monster fights per zones, and the logos system in the later two zones.

Let's not pretend dungeons alone bought us all that; any fair accounting would demand we also throw Diadem, Diadem Revamped, Wonderous Tails, and perhaps Aquapolis into the costs section.

Of all things that might appeal to a casual audience... you pick Ultimates as your bastion?

Its still content and its content people have been asking for, even if those might have been a vocal minority.
One thing I'd like to point out though is that even if someone doesnt actively particpates in Ultimates or gets their clear, its still content they can access easily - at least in a sense. I'm saying this because I know quite a few people who arent intrested in giving those Ultimates a try themself, but who never the less enjoy watching streams/videos of world-first-clears and the like.
Yes, I know thats not them playing the game or anything and they're not actually getting content that they can (or want to) play through themself, but it might actually be more engaging and fun to watch 8 other people beat their heads against one of those Ultimates, follow their progress etc. than rush through yet another dungeon...

I can only speak for myself here when I say that while I dont dislike dungeons and enjoy running them the first couple of times (since they're usually intresting/beautiful looking places, with new music, maybe some lore-bits etc.) they've also never really been the height of innovation and gameplay-experience. They feel a lot like "diet food": Something everyone can eat, maybe even enjoy at times but at the same time rather bland.
While I personally didnt like Eureka, I'd rather have them try to come up with new, different types of content that dont have to cater to everyone anymore (thought maybe not as extreme as the Ultimates) instead of going the "lazy" route of throwing out dungeons.
