    I'm actually the opposite.

I prefer the more and deeper route. The reasons I like Alliance Raids and Dungeons, over 8-Mans and Trials is that Trials are little more than a stripped down boss battle and a single fight. That's it. If there is ever anything that gets boring fast its the same old single fight over and over again which is what an 8-man Trial is.

It feels like skipping straight to the Boss without ever doing the dungeon crawl. So they feel like little more than candy or desert.

When I do either an Alliance Raid or a Dungeon I feel like I'm getting a full course meal. I feel "satisfied" when I'm done...

...not so with a Trial or 8-man.

While its true that running the same Dungeon over and over will eventually get boring... in no way does it get boring faster than an 8 Man which is only a single fight over and over.

Can you imagine if they tore out all the content of a dungeon and skipped straight to the final fight over and over again and that's all you ever played?
Well that's an 8 man Trial.

At least with an Alliance Raid I am "full" when I'm done with it. Same with a full Dungeon crawl even though they too leave me a little hungry as they seem to be so much shorter nowadays.

Now the real kicker here is, I tried Eureka too, and I didn't mind it. It was ok and I'd go back again. But soon I was right back to running Dungeons and Alliance Raids again with the occasional 8-Man Trial. Honestly if Eureka does have things like the old FFXI dungeons, I just might hop in there to go explore them.

Reasons why i prefered Alexander over Omega and Eden, small little adventure to the boss even if not challanging, a small place showing you its size and that it exists while Omega and Eden you just drop in and fight, lazy design in my eyes.

Eden at least more interessting due story behind the bosses, while Omega was literally a Fanservice dungeon with the bosses not connected at all to it, you could had 12 times Mogry King with 12 different crowns and it wouldn't had made a difference with what Omega made up.

Just drop dungeons altogether, Yoshi. They are not interesting.
They feel like little more than a formality nowadays. As if someone went "ah, right, MMO. Have a dungeon."

Which is, of course, and without a doubt totally different from raids, trials and their difficulties whatever they are called across MMOs, right? "But muh savich mohd and alitmate content!!!!"

One type of dungeon-replacement we got was Eureka - and while that wasnt to everyones taste (personally I didnt like it very much), it was different from dungeons, trials, raids etc.

Hazamas point also was that dungeons are not intresting - and while I still believe that there can be intresting elements to them, specially in terms of overall aesthic design and music, they're actually not that intresting gameplay-wise, at least not to me. Raids and Trials (of either difficulty) have a lot more intresting mechanics than your average dungeon-boss - we dont even really need to mention trash-mobs when it comes to intresting fight-design...

There isnt a need to do away with everything thats been established in the MMO-genre, but one should take a hard look at those things and ask themself if a certain part of content is really still that intresting - or if it cant be replaced with a "fresher" idea (Eureka, in a sense) or by a different type of established content thats more engaging (a trial, for example).

well i will miss the 2nd dungeon if the one per patch allows for more versed side content and such ok. My hope is that the lack of a 2nd dungeon will allow for the Relic weapons to begin (at least int he next xpac) after finishing the MSQ and not waiting almost 6 mounths

    "just drop dungeons"

.....excuse me? You realize that is where they're telling a lot of the story? This is still a Final Fantasy game. It's still a STORY game. If you don't like them... I'm sorry? This game isn't just for you, it's for everyone. So they're spacing things out and have a lot more to upkeep and work on. Oh well. They have stuff they're working on. Personally, I'm fine with it.

While dropping dungeons alltogether is certainly a bit extreme and at least I always liked my story-dungeon, you cant deny that during our 3-dungeon-time in ARR only the mainstory-dungeon actually told, well a story, each patch. There are noticeable exceptions, like Tam Tara and the follow up on Edda, but most other HMs and even the new dungeons werent huge storytellers - "Oh, the dragons are back... better go to Stone Vigil again!"

Relax. It's just a wild suggestion.
They could tell the story in other ways that don't necessarily involve walking down a hallway with adjacent bells and whistles.
