Not gonna lie. I kinda miss falling to my death. The invisible walls but me too.

To be extremely fair here, I don't think this game is so baby easy either. Look before you snort at me... we have a thread over 2k pages long about people failing at this game. Either people are just that stupid or maybe FFXIV isn't as babyly easy as we all complain about. I just look at it like this, we who think it's easy.. are just that good.
Odd request. I already get super annoyed at things in other MMOs that pointlessly waste the players' time for no good reason. Like getting dismounted and dazed when hit by a mob while riding on your mount. I'm so glad FFXIV doesn't do stuff like that. Having everyone nearly die because of the way a dungeon is designed (i.e. fall damage when the only way forward is off a cliff or something) is a great example of another pointless waste of time.
A lot of people are bad at playing this game because the game is atrocious at teaching them how to play.To be extremely fair here, I don't think this game is so baby easy either. This game lobotomizes its players with the same trash quests and fates from lvl 1 to 80. The progression curve was already bad at release but it has become patheticly bad with each update because the old content has been left to rot. FFXIV is a fantastic example for a lot of things to avoid in game design.
Should probably do something like add a few stages to Hall of the Novice that unlock at a higher level. Can cover stuff like Esuna, playing with another tank, etc. Use a reward people have a hard time resisting like a mount after completing the new stages. None of this will fix FFXIV's absolutely abysmal UX but I'd love to increase the percentage of people aware of really common basic mechanics like knowing to not drag AOEs into a stack marker.A lot of people are bad at playing this game because the game is atrocious at teaching them how to play.

while the game doesn't teach you to play at end game level, at the same time this is also an MMO. you're supposed to turn to your community and discuss amongst your fellow players and theorycraft the best way to play your job. Hence we have places like The Balance on Discord. the resources are out there. why does the game have to hold your hand all the way through? this is not a single player jrpg.
also no to bringing back fall damage. it's an unnecessary thing. just a waste of time.
Actually I clearly remember being dismounted and having "Heavy" status after running trough agressive mobs. Did they remove this? Hurray if so because it was annoying.
Player
I have never been dismounted or made Heavy (or any other status effect) by a mob hitting me as a rode by them. I came here from WoW and SWTOR, two games that do that. And I remember being very happy that this kind of pointless annoyance wasn't here.
I can never believe how these threads make it past 1 page.
Anyway, this. The moment I could fly I was a tad disappointed I couldn't dismount and just end myself. Aion, which had its own flight system, went all the way. You committed to finding a safe landing the moment you took flight off that high ledge.
So now my WoL ceaselessly searches for a way to end herself on her own terms.
