Feels like the WoL is too anime to be taking fall damage at all. Even if we are willing to accept DRG jumps have some of the energy transferred into the lance and in turn into whatever she is thrusting, that is still a massive sudden deceleration that would be fatal given her momentum. Therefore I am convinced the WoL shouldn't be impacted by falls at all. It is hilarious how much of a wimp she can be when you take fall damage as even carrying 30+ kgs of military equipment a lot of our soldiers would manage better, though still not recommended.

I always wished they'd done more with Ninjas All Fours trait (remind me why that still exists, by the way). Actually I wish they gave every Job some unique gimmick like that, solely for the purpose of making dungeons slightly more interesting. Like say Ninja can survive a fall and open up a different path in the dungeon, while Samurai can run on water for a brief period and that leads to something that lets them open up a different path. That way you can have dungeons with branching paths, rather than the linear snore-fests we've been left with, and conveniently remove the whole "people will just take the fastest route" argument because the route would be based on party composition.

Honestly... I kind of liked in WoW that it could kill you lol. Made jumps feel a bit more.. ommph. At least personally now I'm just annoyed with a monster aggro'd as an excuse to die, seems silly (just because you have aggro).

To the point I would suggest that either:

    A) SE adds level / item level into the calculation of damage, such that a level 80 has to drop from the highest point in the game and fall to the lowest point to actually sprain an ankle (but level 1 will get pummled by 12 feet).

    or

    B) Falls can kill you, although perhaps keeping an eye to make sure 10-20 feet drops are still possible.

And for either one I still think (said this before) that Dragoons shouldn't really bother with fall damage and should be able to jump higher (even if it's through some sort of mount mechanic, which would detect if you've flying in the zone before letting you jump high enough to mess with their game progression). Ninja's could be ignore damage from any height lesser than X (while dragoon's is just like "jumps don't hurt, only floor tanking hurts").

Just my imo lol. And I'm talking in dungeons and out of dungeons, in a general sense.

I'd put a vote against it solely for practical reasons. My immersion is long dead and burried. Fall damage would do little to revive it.

Now that I think about it, given the half gods that we are in the story, its not even that immersion breaking.

Only if the game starts blasting "High Speed Dirt" when you fall far enough.

    See the earth below,
    Soon to make a crater!
    Blue sky, black death,
I'm off to meet my maker!

The game is hardcore enough as it is. We do not need to make it even harder. That only adds to the anxiety.

Can you come up with some believable bait, for a change?

I remember a time when trolling was considered an art by some and was treated as such. They don't make 'em like they used to.

To be extremely fair here, I don't think this game is so baby easy either. Look before you snort at me... we have a thread over 2k pages long about people failing at this game. Either people are just that stupid or maybe FFXIV isn't as babyly easy as we all complain about. I just look at it like this, we who think it's easy.. are just that good.

A lot of people are bad at playing this game because the game is atrocious at teaching them how to play.

This game lobotomizes its players with the same trash quests and fates from lvl 1 to 80. The progression curve was already bad at release but it has become patheticly bad with each update because the old content has been left to rot. FFXIV is a fantastic example for a lot of things to avoid in game design.
