I think they should add the following rules:
- Doing any queued duty level 34 and up (I.e. starting with Titan) requires a job stone unlocked and equipped.
- Joining any level 50/60/70/80 duty requires you to be fully caught up on your job quests for the expansion. For example, running any Crystal Tower alliance raid requires you to have fully completed your job's ARR quest line up through level 50.
- Joining any leveling dungeon or trial requires you to be caught up on your job quests for the previous expansion. For example, to run any Stormblood leveling dungeon, you must have fully completed your job's Heavensward quest line up through level 60.
- None of the above rules will apply if you are running any duty with an undersized party or a full premade party.

Trust me they did, it used to be a lot worse. Back in 2.0 and 3.0 the game had a different cross class skill system. Basically you can cross any skill as long as you don't have a job stone. So people do things like cross skill 'taunt' on archers, queue into 24 men and circle aggro from the tank to cleave the party. It wasn't just about performance.

Yeah, I was here for the cross-class stuff. In fact, this toon started off as an archer because I wanted to be a black mage. And back then, you had to get archer to level 15, and thaumaturge to 30 to unlock BLM.

I just wasn't playing regularly in the early days of ARR so I don't recall people queuing past level 30 as a base class.

Oh, they could most certainly remove them. It's just a matter of time and money, which they want to spend on other things.

That's why I said both the coding and lore. They most certainly could remove them, but at this point, the time and effort is better spent on newer things.

For SMN/SCH I was thinking of broader concepts. ShB did separate these jobs a bit further but there are still Aetherflow mechanics in SMN for instance, although they are not tied to anything anymore. We could just have Fester / Painflare on the same CD and work just fine. They still share the same EXP bar too. SCH's Ruin II feels odd to me when you don't have other Ruin spells.
While they could make one job the continuation of ACN, and the other one a stand alone job...
Anyway, that's not a priority we can agree on that

You aren't wrong in that regard, but at that point it's about altering how each job functions, not separating them. But, they can't fully change certain aspects, since SMN and SCH are meant to act as parallels to one another. So Summon, Artherflow, Aetherpact, certain elements need to appear similar to maintain that connection. That being said there are some things that don't make sense that I hope do get rectified come 6.0.

There needs to be some form of soft lock on your duty finder with the class you're on if you're level 30 and don't have your job stone equipped. I had a case today where we had a thaumaturge in Alexander 8, Burdan of the Son..... Their reply was "too lazy to get the BLM stone" when asked why they're a thaumaturge. I'm sorry but this should not be a thing... If this was anywhere from 30-50 I can see why they might not have known about it or maybe they forgot or they're new to understanding to set their stone with their class change..... But level 60 content and you're joining people's parties with this?....

Can we get a lock on roulettes if you're applying as a class that is well beyond level 30 and makes you unable to queue until it is completed and you have one equipped or something? For example, I can queue as a paladin.... but if I swap to my level 40 archer, it won't let me queue as it? This is just silly and we cant just kick them because there's a 5 minute wait and it doesn't classify as "harassment/afk/offline/etc".

Maybe there's an isseu with this for lvl 15-30 new players so that's why it isn't implemented

I mean they could just do away with you being a "class" once you hit 30 and just auto give you your job or something.... Idk, just, SOMETHING could be done.

I used to troll with friends in heavenward and early stormblood in alliance roulette on pugilist, gladiator counjeror ect. Did just fine in clearing the content and did better than most people WITH their job stone's. Its level 60 content why are you tripping about a jobless guy lol.

heavensward had cross class which let you do meme 'builds' by stacking all the dps increasing ogcds, you can't do this anymore, just because you were able to do it literally 4 years ago doesn't mean the game hasn't evolved to a point where this stuff is still possible.
