What my message means is that to think that 5k for a venture is worth it is to settle for crumbs. I don't know, it's not that hard to read the messages before answering them.

And it is. Because it's a gamble. You can get much higher than 5k. Or you can get 5k.

Leveling and gearing them to 80 and nice ilvl to get 5k is totally worth, doesnt it.

I imagine if you were paid 100$ a month for 8 hours of work a day you'd think it was great, right?, wow, the american dream.

I wouldn't call 5k generous, but it isn't expensive or difficult to level and gear retainers well enough to get a chance at better loot from ventures. I'm swimming in ventures just from handing in trash dungeon gear and the "junk" gear my retainers do bring back, and my hand me down newbie gear that I replaced just from doing L80 content has my retainers more than geared enough to bring me back shinies, at least on my combat retainers. They can even wear the free 430 AF sets (assuming you've done the quest for them).

There's very little work involved beyond remembering to even send them out, and you've got a shot at getting a whole lot more than 5k worth of loot from quick ventures. I've had stuff worth 500k+ come back from a quick ventures, and I've got plenty of metallic and white/black dyes for my needs thanks to them.

I mean, I wouldn't complain if SE made rewards more consistently valuable, and I'd like if they kicked some of the REAL junk off the loot table (Like giving one single wind shard. I mean, really?), but I also don't see a problem with how it works now. Low effort and quick return for bonus loot on a roll of the dice. Not exactly comparable to being severely underpaid for actual real life labor.

You should be getting bacon bits, the fish, and the dancing weapon minion with that message. It is random though I can get 2 in a day and go a months with none. You should also get up to level 79 dungeon gear. But again the most common and same from stormblood is the one dungeon shisui gear set. Desynth and vendor. Hell all the Sky rat gear vendor price makes more then 5k a day. You should also receive dyes that at least on Balmung black and white sell for over 250k. Also old hard to get glamours that are made from old map dungeon drops. If you are only doing a couple a day just do the 18 hours can still get minions and you get coins to vendor.



Some stuff comes up way more then others. You just aren't spamming them enough. Also this is just personal experience, but I always feel stuff in the game starts to even out at around 1000 attempts(yes 1000). But if you want to increase percentages you just need to keep stacking ilvl as high as you can and you will always see that message. If I remember correct, can someone correct me if I am wrong. DoL stack as much + gathering as you can on top of gear. I wouldn't overmeld but I would max every slot I could.

My level 80 miner from quick ventures loves to bring me back gear. Just last week he brought back 3 Garo pvp gear items from quick ventures. so never know what they will bring back.

I just like to see what they bring back. Sometimes it's cool stuff, like rare orchestrion rolls or furniture. Sometimes it's dyes or materials that make a good profit. Sometimes it's fish. Who knows? It's a game.

Im doing quick ventures whit my retainers lvl80 and I always get the message:


''Your retainer's current gear should improve chances of finding rare items.''


My DoL are geared whit best gear available atm 460/430 ilvl and my DoW are ilvl460+ but still get always this message.


Whats the stats/ilvl i need to get in order to not get this message again (and probably better loot)?

That message is only posted when your retainer breaks a certain gearscore threshold. if you no longer wish to see that message you would have to DOWNGRADE their equipment. However since it's present it sounds like their gear is fine.

All it means though is there is a larger pool of random items they can come back with, including some relatively rare and valuable ones that aren't available if they don't meet gearscore requirements.

Ok, i missread the message and though I should improve even more the stats/ilvl to get best prizes.

So once you recive this message, lets say at DoW ilvl450, if gear the retainer at 470 the chances of worth stuff are the same then?

Spent a month after SHB launched constantly sending out quick ventures so I could get a retainer fantasia. Got a lot of house decorations, couple of radios for my rooms. And a lot of junk. Finally got bunny retaier in the end tho, don't think I've ever seen this message tho... Although I have weird chat filters and don't see a lot of what other people see

5000 gil per hour per retainer while they're mostly equipped with my secondhand gear? Sounds like a deal.

Even without the chance for higher rarity items, that's a welcome steady trickle.

And if they bring back untradeable gear... you can probably hand it back to your GC for more seals than it costs to buy two ventures!
