Losing wired internet connection while playing FF14

I am trying to use Ethernet to play FFXIV instead of Wifi. Everything worked fine with Wifi, however, when I use Ethernet, things become really weird. When I connect with Ethernet and without FFXIV client log in, I can use internet without any issue. But, once I log on FFXIV and still use Ethernet, the entire internet will disconnect after I browse something from internet. I can play LoL with ethernet, so I am not sure what is the issue there. Kindly someone can help me out.

Good morning and thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Do you get an error message when you get disconnected? If so could you provide in your next reply? What have you tried so far to alleviate the issue? Does this issue occur when the PC is the only device connected to your network?

I only have one device(labtop not PC) that connect to my network. Before the disconnect of my internet happen, I will get 90002 from the game, after like some period of time (30-40 seconds), window internet icon the one in bottom right corner will turn from Ethernet connected to a global icon with a circle forbidden sign in the bottom right of the icon. There is no error message pop out. In order to fix this, I need to go to internet and nework under setting in control panel to click repair my internet, once it repair, it will recover. One interesting observation is the amount of time I stay connect to Ethernet is kind of unpredictable, but when I try speed test with xfinity link ->https://speedtest.xfinity.com/ , it will disconnect right way when FFXIV log on. But, if I use dslreports to test my speed, it will not disconnect when FFXIV log on. If I didn't log on FFXIV, everything work find no matter what speed test I use.
Regarding to what I tried, I got the following 3 link from google -> https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...g_my_internet/ and http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/102030, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWRsHEU5T0U, UPnP on my router is checked, and I unchecked "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" for Broadcom NetLink(TM) Gigabit Ethernet and Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter in My computer -> property -> device manager -> network adapter, in video it show Realtek PCIe GBE family controller, but I do not have that, so i assume what I did is correct. On one of the post, it mention check window system log, I checked it too, but I do not find things related to internet, I thnk might go the wrong direction, so did not dig deeper

When you are using a wired connection, turn OFF the WiFi network/antenna on the laptop.
Windows likes to try and use both connections sometimes at the same time, which reeks havoc with the local network connections when your router doesn't know how to handle a "one device, two IPs" situation.

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Is the Final Fantasy XIV application allowed through the fire wall? Additionally have you tried changing the Internet Explorer settings? Final Fantasy XIV will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. As such, it needs to have the proper configurations to avoid connection issues. Adjust the following settings in the Internet Explorer (not Microsoft Edge) web browser.

Open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Yes, FFXIV application is allowed through the fire wall. I will change the setting for IE and get back to you. I am also curious should I also do something with Chrome or other web browser since Chrome is my most frequent web browser, I did not know if IE will cause the same issue as Chrome did.

have you tried other cables between router and device? have you tried other router ports? its possible a port is bad, or a cable is bad, on either end.

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

Could you try port forwarding? Ppen the following ports ranges on your router:

    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

These are remote ports in your router’s firewall. They designate what can send information to your PC and what cannot. These specific ports are used by the game to connect to the local client.
