Maiden’s Rhapsody Event 2020

So I know it came back in 2017, but I either wasn’t playing at that time, or I was too focused on MSQ (I know, I was dumb) so I didn’t get to get the Amatsu set.

All I really want is to have the event get brought back again so I could get the set, and I think 2020 would be a great time to do it. Here’s why:

1: Shadowbringers brought tons of new players to XIV.
-This would mean that new players also get the chance to obtain this amazing set of glamour armour, and I think that’s a very sweet thing to do.

2: it’s not just something to throw on the Mogstation.
-Since the event was a celebration of XI’s expansion. I think it’s not just the armour that should take the forefront (though it’d be a great memento, and a great bit of glamour) but whatever story was there would be a great nod to the game and possibly get some of the new fans interested in XI, too.

3: I can’t be the only one who wants it.
- I’m sure there are tons of people like me, who, for one reason or another, weren’t able to get the armour when it was brought out it’s first two times.

We didn’t get it in 2019, though we got the XV event (which was great), but I fully believe 2020 would be the best time to bring it back—and I really hope someone asks for it in the Q&A before the next Live Letter.

I doubt it ever will to be really honest - there is no reason to bring it back, the only reason it was added was to celebrate the official winding up of FFXI's storyline with the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel story (hence why that storyline's main npc Iroha showed up here in Hydaelyn as a cameo), as a cross event occurred in FFXI around the same time featuring FFXIV spriggans from Eorzea showing up in Vana'diel and causing mayhem.

It also was not the only FFXI to appear here in FFXIV, an earlier crossover event with Shantotto appeared early in FFXIV ARR's life and that too never returned, so I'm really sorry to say, it's unlikely the Iroha event will return too. More likely we'll get a FFVII-themed event later this year to coincide with episode 1 of the FFVII Remake being released in March (Yoshi is on record stating his personal favourite FF is FFVII), so that would be even another nail in the coffin for the FFXI events to return sadly.

It’s really sad if they just don’t ever do it again—but if that was the case that they wouldn’t, I don’t see why they wouldn’t have the set already up on Mogstation. I’d be disappointed I wouldn’t be able to experience the story of it, yeah, but I feel it in my jellies that since it’s not up on the cash shop yet it may be possible. From what I hear, there’s something big planned for the 20th anniversary?
