Child-like characters?

I was thinking maybe make them rp only, not be able to join dungeons, like a limited race, but then I thought like please no this community is already messed up enough...
I find it pretty disturbing things like this get suggested at all.
The 1st thing people will do is give them the Nier pants for a bigger butt because everyone things they're super funny lately.

IMO adding children as a limited race you can't do combat with would be an even bigger waste of resources than adding them as fully playable. What would even be the point? Just rping in city states and housing districts? Adding that before fixing Hrothgar/Viera issues and missing genders would be a travesty.

It would be pretty sad if a child playable character gets a butt increase using that leg piece, when Lalafell ladies get literally nothing from it (seriously, even the flat asses from 5.15 are still bigger than the rear of a Lalafell XD)

It is not because of ethical reasons, it is because of resources & they do not feel like it.

Excenmille had his little gang of rugrats in FFXI. If you wanted, you could make any perverted emotes directed at them as you please. You could do it to the NPCs in this game. So, being a NPC or PC is irrelevant.

This is like the glamour topic; of how it would not be "FFXI like" to have jobs clothes and weapons to crossover, but the previous Final fantasy mmo allowed it "Face palm"

Excenmille was available as a trust. He took damage, grunted when hit, bleeds, & eats dirt like the rest of the players. People also ran by & made emotes at the kid. So I don't see the ethical issue here. If you don't have the resources, or just don't feel it is worth it, say so. Not these BS answers which contradict one another.

FFXI and FFXIV had entirely different people directing and working on the game though. For example, don’t count on a Yoshida game ever having something like that haha

But you didn't control them, you just used the option to make "perverted emotes directed at them as you please"... Perhaps history has already proven enough times that this is a bad idea from the get go and enough degenerates cause enough of an issue to not bother with it.

FFXI was great game, but it never had the spot light that FFXIV has garnered. The brighter that light, the more the backlash would come from more disgusting Ryne "mods" cropping up. Besides "No means no."

One would think even those that thought to do such things (make lewd gestures to under aged characters) would at least try to understand the significance of the devs already addressing this.

Final Fantasy XI came out over a decade ago, back when such things weren't regulated as well as they are at present. Furthermore, the presence of child NPC's is not the issue. It's the presence of playable children. The development team can strictly control what NPC's do and are exposed to. They cannot do that for player characters.

It's a little creepy that people keep ignoring that distinction in their efforts to paint the development team as 'lying' when they're quite clearly presenting a valid stance. It doesn't - or rather it shouldn't - take a genius to work out that there's a great many things present in the MSQ's and over-world that are inappropriate for a child character to be exposed to.

There is a vast majority I've noticed that are simply sick minded and will say anything to justify their desires in order to have what they want. This applies to the control of child characters.

For anyone interested in this type of stuff, don’t they have children playable characters on black desert online? I don’t say this to be rude, I just think FFXIV isn’t really the game for you because that type of stuff will 100% never be added to this game. At least not while Yoshida is still the director. I mean hey, you do you, but you won’t get what you’re looking for here.

To be honest, I've always thought that it would be like to play a character that looks younger (like the horned children in Gridania or young Elezens in Ishgard), especially because of rp purpose (now we try torescue a child Elezen... who has to be almost 2 meters tall and with his baby face he looks like a tomato on a coffin). But I know that where our play would be totally innocent, there are people who would do nasty things and say it's only a game and they don't hurt anyone (just go to Limsa and take a look at people who try to imitate sex there. It's gross even without child characters). So I respect and accept SE's decision. I know that some people don't want to accept the fact that everything is made to aver perverts' actions, but in reality it's good for all of us.
